When does a QB overthrow a receiver, how does one tell the difference between a poorly ran route and an overthrow?
Question to everyone

It's usually an overthrow if the receiver is clearly open and the ball is too far ahead of them to catch it. Usually happens on deep routes down the field, the ball just sails over their head. Underthrows usually require the wr to slow down and allows the defense to catch up.

If it's a poorly ran route or the wrong route then the ball will probably be released early because it's a timed route. The QB will throw one way and the receiver will cut the other way. It can also be a poorly ran route if it's a double move and WR just looks stiff as shyt or lazy and doesn't get the separation they are supposed to.

Got a superbowl appearance out of it. :yeshrug:

Coulda drafted Bosa instead to pair with Donald and picked somebody like Dak Prescott later :skip:

Goff has probably peaked and they may never even get back to the NFC Chip' again let alone the SB with Goff at the helm. Do you sacrifice 1 SB appearance for a middling QB that keeps you in "just good enough or occasionally better" purgatory? :jbhmm:

At the end of the day LAR was in win now mode after the relocation and needed a QB. They didn't particularly need another pass rusher or defender, they obviously didnt need Henry at the time, I guess they could've gotten a WR or TE but they would've had no QB that year. :picard:

Winning heals all wounds and they are in contention (even tho I think they suck), so I don't think they should look back at this trade negatively.
