Stacey Abrams: Most influential African American in the country?

On Thursday, The Root placed Stacey Abrams at the top of the list of the most influential African Americans in the country.

“A year after a shady election denied her the chance to become America's first black female governor, Abrams is still that chick causing all that conversation,” the editors wrote.”

I'm gonna keep clowning Bernie supporters. I called this ages ago. They didn't learn a single lesson from 2016 and decided they can simply run it back without making any inroads within the democrat bases that determine the nominee. Bernie still can't win the south without black voters and he's underwater with older democrat voters. The youth vote is split this time, he can't rely on it. Yet here we are.

As this goes on his campaign will only get angrier and more antagonistic towards Warren. I fully expect him to once again remain in the race after the nominee is all but chosen.

This isn't true though. Just off the fact that he has higher support among Hispanics and young black voters than last time. And also has the largest donor base. Bernie's not gonna win by being an establishment darling. He's gotta bring out voters who don't normally show up and that doesn't always show in polls. I think alot of people are using the vocal minority of these candidates supporters to project a narrative. We have to be smarter than that here.

Bernie choked. Bernie blew it again, and in a worse field, and against Trump! It’s over. He’ll probably be dead in the next few years due to his age. It’s really sad.

This is interesting. I think Ana is definitely being too harsh, and agree with Cenk. Warren has definitely been ambiguous about M4A, but have not lied. She is going to be forced to get more specific with her plan though. I know she is going to get pressed on this issue during the next debate.

To be honest I don’t think we are getting M4A no matter who is in office. I do think it should be the starting position so we can get the best deal possible. Unless we get more progressive in congress we can forget about M4A or any legislation that would hold the insurance companies and hospitals accountable. Right now even if the president use reconciliation, there still wouldn’t be enough votes in the senate for M4A, because most of the dem senators are against it. I do think we might be able to get something like the Singapore, or Australia system passed.

The party line on Israel is "ending the Israeli occupation and the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip living alongside Israel, welcoming the Palestinian General Delegation back to Washington and reopening an American mission to the Palestinians in Jerusalem, and immediately resuming aid to the Palestinians and financial support to UNRWA"? :leon:

Has anyone told the Senate Minority Leader this? :jbhmm:
What are you talking about? A 2-state solution has been part the Democratic party’s official stance for the last about 3 years. Obama supported a 2 state solution in lip service, as did John Kerry and his FP whole team. They’re just not doing anything about it and won’t.

Elizabeth Warren has toed the party line on Israeli policy since day one and that is not debatable.

In 2014 she defended Israeli raids on Gaza...

“when Hamas puts its rocket launchers next to hospitals, next to schools, they're using their civilian population to protect their military assets. And I believe Israel has a right, at that point, to defend itself".

And she voted for the iron dome funding and has had close ties with AIPAC lobbyists.

The Democratic party has drifted toward being more sympathetic to the Palestinian side in the last few years, and thus so has she as she runs for President, but if you think she represents some departure from establishment orthodoxy on Israel, you’re dreaming.

Sorry she doesn't talk militaristically and antagonistically towards the Jews. Kinda a weird burn there on Warren....
