I don’t get the black obsession with Palestine in the whole Israel-Palestine conflict. Arabs, especially in the levant, have no love lost for black people. I mean the Jews shouldn’t have jacked the land, but fukk both sides...this ain’t some coli militant shyt either, arabs have mistreated blacks for centuries, I have no dog in that fight and am not making FP stances on that conflict some big part of how I judge a candidate :yeshrug:

and a lot of the conservative conspiratorial right wingers affliated with the NOI kinda opposed jews.

You gotta remember, Elijah Muhammad had a weird relationship with the American Nazi Party...

Its a simple thing. Do you oppose or support an apartheid settler state taking land and rights away from the people who were there prior?

And Jews have lived in Palestine before 1948... you also have Palestinians who are Jewish that exist.

Also consider that Israel was one of Apartheid South Africa's biggest allies.

And Palestinians aren't Gulf Arabs. Arabs aren't a monolithic people to begin with.

Still doesn't rank in what's important to me as a black American.

I didn’t call them gulf Arabs, they are part of the levant which has been a racist group against blacks...

And it’s not a simple thing, I just laid out that it’s fukk both sides. Neither is my ally, I’m not dying on that cross and thus don’t execute politicians on it either.

Palestinian leadership is trash, I mean Abbas is on year 15 of a 4 year term.

But you do know all of the Palestinian leaders worth a damn, their so called Mandelas are either in jail or killed, right? Speaking of Mandela...

And you may need to care more in one respect. The Christian fascist right, mega donors like the Adelsons, have an interest in keeping black people in America away from the polls by supporting GOP candidates and outright fellow fascists. They want to fund campaigns to put poor black boys in the military to fight a war against Iran.

I'm not even being dramatic. It is a fact.

Still doesn't rank in what's important to me as a black American.

No one is saying it should be your top priority. But it is a simple concept. Do you support people living under military occupation forever? Most people would say no.

Do you think its appropriate that a billionaire like Adelson can buy an election and then immediately use that influence to push for instability in the region on behalf of a fascist government?

Bernie supporters, Palestine first. :francis:

Jesse Jackson's presidential campaigns pushed for Palestinian rights. As well as making the link to freedom in South Africa from apartheid.

It's part of a coherent view of the world. Which the left has to formulate in foreign policy.

Regardless of how you feel about the conflict, a candidate’s stance on it is the biggest bellwether on their foreign policy approach.

If they support status quo Israel policy, it’s a clear indication they support status quo US foreign policy in general. That’s why I brought it up to @King Kreole
