And it's really simple. Having to acknowledge any 1 of these facts requires you to change your idea of electability and makes 99% of the post in this thread look stupid as fukk.

Y'all just moved from Russia frenzy to presidential frenzy. It's crazy. I don't care about who y'all like. Just stop being wrong about shyt.
Everything about #resist can be boiled down to these two paragraphs and I will admit that I am guilty too.

Y'all still don't acknowledge that Hillary lost NC and NC elected a democratic governor

I live in NC. Roy Cooper won because Pat McCrory ran up the Bathroom bill that pulled the ncaa, acc tournaments, and the NBA all star game from the states most populous cities. It was an indictment on him, not a support for liberal policies.

Roy Cooper's policies are in the same vain as Hillary and Obama.

Obama lost NC :mjlol:.

NC is currently red +5 for the Thillis seat.

Y'all still use national polls to decide the winner of presidential elections when the election is decided by state vote count

Nah. That's bullshyt. We use the national votes to show that the electoral college has gone against the will of the people consistently to the advantage of Republicans. :gucci:

The rest of that is emotional rambling. My position is and always has been that Bernie Sanders lost the Democratic primary fair and square because he failed to make the necessary inroads in the south and in particular the southern black vote.

That's usually when you all refer to likeability of him by Black voters is where I point out that Hillary had similar likeability by black voters which in when you go off on another tangent.

The reality is you're a Bernie Bro, you hate Hillary, and you hate the Democratic party. That's your prerogative, but you then use that to spin up this false narrative of strawmen arguments to justify why things aren't going the way you want.

Can I ask you a questions. During the Democratic blue wave, what were the top voter prioties?

During the democratic blue wave, who picked up more seats-- the moderate dems you hate or the progressives you admire?

A new poll shows Bernie beating Biden by 4%. :leon:

Sadly, it also shows Warren has returned to single digits, earning only 9%. :manny:

Welp, if a poll says it, it must be absolutely true. I'll keep you up to date with the latest accurate poll data. :salute:

You know, you're absolutely right. In fact, I just saw the latest poll. Bernie is the frontrunner by a 5 point margin! Wow! And poor Warren has slipped down to only 7% again. That's a shame. Her campaign is collapsing. Time to wrap it up, Liz.

We've all been guilty of this as some point. The only way to break out of the stan wars is to stop following polls, stop following candidates, and focus on research around different social issues.

We're not learning anything in this thread. The candidates have been in Iowa for like 7 months now and there are probably 2 post in here that actually talk about the issues affecting the citizens of that state.

The point again, 2 yrs later, is that the idea that Bernie supporters tanked the election is an excuse with no data to back it up. It's a Trumpian falsehood that Hillary supporters won't let go of. This counterpoint is more important because Democrats really believe that they are above Trumpian logic.

We can sit here and agree that some Bernie supporters still believe the primary was rigged - ironically a point that Warren even supported at one time (Warren walks back claim Democratic primary was rigged).

However, you guys still believe a litany of falsehoods about the 2016 election that extend BEYOND Bernie because y'all have spent the last 2 years stuck in a single day:
  • Y'all still use national polls to decide the winner of presidential elections when the election is decided by state vote count
  • Y'all still don't understand that MI, PA, WI, and NC are the only states that matter in 2020
  • Y'all still don't acknowledge that Hillary lost NC and NC elected a democratic governor
  • Y'all still don't acknowledge that Hillary lost PA and PA elected a democratic AG
  • Y'all still don't want to acknowledge that Wisconsin turnout was the lowest in decades and that the black turnout was paltry (don't worry we just lost the supreme court seat too!)
  • Y'all stilll don't want to acknowledge that MI hadn't been won by a republican presidential candidate in 3 decades AND that dems in the state houses won in 2014, 2016, and 2018.
  • Nor do you guys want to acknowledge that Bernie campaigned endlessly for Hillary after the primaries.
And it's really simple. Having to acknowledge any 1 of these facts requires you to change your idea of electability and makes 99% of the post in this thread look stupid as fukk.

Exactly. The only thing I look at polls for is for what is resonating with voters, and their opinions on certain things to understand how messaging is working. But as I've said time and again, anyone stating what is happening at this point is just projecting what they want to happen. Oh, and from a historical standpoint. no one who isn't in the top 6 at this point has won the nomination so about 15 people need to go away. Other than that, it's all just politcial theater that has dumbed down America.

None of this is true. Sanders campaigned for Hillary after the convention, just like she did for Obama. In fact, they stayed in the race the same amount of time essentially. He campaigned more for her than any other loser in history. Lastly, Bernie's "rabid fanbase" were primary voters. Most people don't vote in primaries. HRC was supposed to be able to win off her "strength with black voters," and I kept telling y'all that there is a difference betwen a reliable Democrat and black primary voters. Black voter turnout decreeased for the first time in 20 years. Trump won a smaller percentage of the vote than Romney. HRC lost because her campaign was trash and no one who is seriously involved in politics believes it was Bernie's fault unless they are a loyalist. I was in meetings where people straight up said, "the people just don't like her. there's nothing we can do about it."

That comment about the electoral college is a very sore loser thing to say. The electoral system has been the same forever. The same one that got one that got Clinton in twice, Obama in twice. Our candidate in 2016 didn't put in the work, all you have to do is look at the campaign calendar this time in 2016 and see where Trump was and where Hillary was. Fact is for all this talk of the electoral college Obama, the minority candidate, somehow survived it.

But like I said years ago, some republican governor will become the first female president and Hillary stans will still be crying. Not realizing the problem was her.
