I have a question...what's the logic of having so many Democrats running for president?

I feel like there's a grander political strategy to this, but I can't figure out what it is. :bppatrice:

Give the base more moderates to choose and keep the votes away from Progressives (ie. Warren, Sanders). My cynical opinion, anyway.

Winning the Senate in 2016 looked do-able. Dems needed like 5 seats but only gained 2 and then a 3rd in 2017 with Jones.

Lost a net of 2 in 2018 with a brutal map.

GOP is defending a lot of seats. And the Dems are struggling to recruit candidates for big races. :snoop:

This makes sense. Thanks.

Hillary had better numbers than anyone else, by every perceivable metric. This is a fact.

Doesn't mean I liked voting for her dusty ass, but you're delusional if you think Hillary didn't have the clout to win.

It really was her turn.

I don't care if you disagree or get triggered by that statement. :kanyebp:
this is what i don't get about people with hillary, it literally was one bad move - not paying attention enough to the midwest, a place the dems took for granted - paired with trump's dog whistle to part of that constituent that left. like her or not, she was qualified and a formidable candidate.

i also think she gets too much shyt for being a victim of her husband's rebrand of the dem party, she started off a lot more liberal than him but got told to STFU during his presidency, she fell in line with where he moved the party.

More candidates means a moving of the goalposts for debate qualification

People like tulsi will probably be left out now to the delight of many here. :francis:
Yall keep mentioning her like she matters in this, she doesn't. There are maybe 10 people on this board who know/are clocking her - half in support, half opposed. No one else cares..... :heh:

She doesnt really matter too much..but her opinion being heard would be valuable imo and she may end up in the next administration so it would be good for more to familiarize themselves with her :yeshrug:

This has to be one of the most depressing articles I've read in HL. :mjcry:
Just trying to get people to move their feet and not their mouths.

All these races can be won if you chip into the % of non-voters. The problem is nobody wants to engage with them, because.....:yeshrug:
