I'm actually considering which is worse. Biden is giving Hillary a run for her money with how horrible he is on policies and past legislative career.
its closer than the centrists in here want to act but i still think biden is worse, biden MAY be more likeable to some people for whatever reason but thats the only way i could see him outperforming hilary even though i dont think he will at all
I'm not a centrist :sas1:

Plot out their policy positions. Don't be lazy. :bryan:

I think where Bernie screwed up with Black voters was him telling us our issues we wanted to discuss and should be fixed were being "divisive" and then hiding behind marching with MLK as a way to say, "See, I like you people. Haven't I done enough for ya'll?!" It went downhill from there and I think for Black voters that immediately turned them off because they witnessed him going hard for transgenders, immigrants, and everybody else specifically EXCEPT Black people.

I wish somebody in Bernie's camp remind him that while gaining White working class votes, you don't have to do it at our expense because we're still the critical voting base on how far a Democrat can go.
See, this I don't actually agree with. As a matter of fact, none of this is actually true. In 2016 Bernie lost black voters because HRC was a familar name and he never had a shot. Everything you said is stuff people created to cover up the way that the Clintons had the black vote on lock.

I'm only talking 2020. Bernie was never winning the black vote in 2016. This is far too early. I'm just saying if he's going to be this stubborn then it will be a problem. The questons at SheThe People were lay ups. All that stuff you're talking is projection. I'm sorry.

I have a question...what's the logic of having so many Democrats running for president?

I feel like there's a grander political strategy to this, but I can't figure out what it is. :bppatrice:

Every time a another Democrat announces they're running for president, I keep thinking about what former Sen. Harry Reid said about this on Preet Bharara's podcast. :smugpreet:

He said that having many Democrats seeking the nomination is good. How so? :dwillhuh:

well the reason is that it isn't fixed this time. in 2016, the DNC told everyone to fall in line, that hillary had bought the nomination, and it wasn't up for grabs. which is proven by the fact that it just so happened that zero prominent democrats felt like running, which seems "strange" off the momentum of one of the most popular democrats ever

now it's a free and open primary, and we're seeing the level of enthusiasm that existed but was obviously suppressed in 2016

personally i think it kinda blows :yeshrug: i want a good 5-person debate, but this list of 20 is madness

In theory it should increase voter turnout due to a wide array of candidates forcing citizens into the electoral process earlier.

If that is true we could also see some real change in local and state politics as well where high turnout for primaries is usually around 10-12%. I believe that number is accurate.

I was asking myself this earlier...

cause not enough of them are focused on keeping lower seats...

Part of me feels like its an over compensation for not having more choices in 2016

This makes sense. Thanks.

Hillary had better numbers than anyone else, by every perceivable metric. This is a fact.

Doesn't mean I liked voting for her dusty ass, but you're delusional if you think Hillary didn't have the clout to win.

It really was her turn.

I don't care if you disagree or get triggered by that statement. :kanyebp:

the DNC is a private club at the end of the day, they can annoint whoever they want

i just find it laughable that there are posters on here who deny that the DNC tanked it for hillary, and pre-determined the outcome. we all know that it's true :yeshrug: im not sure why anyone would deny it unless it's out of shame

This is a random thought, but could the DNC rule changes have anything to do with it? I can understand some of the people that have been sorta prepping for this election season (Booker, Harris, Gillibrand) but the random wave of people that I don't think stand any chance is completely inexplicable to me so I'm just looking wondering out loud.

Maybe, but I think it's because there's no overwhelming favorite in the polls.

And with the party going through an identity crisis now is probably the best chance ever for politicians to raise their profile.
