The straight black man has been ignored and that’s a fact.
I agree with this. Every candidate in the race, and the Democratic Party as a whole is guilty of this. I’m not even going talk about the republicans because they are basically a party full of White Supremacists. Dems do outreach to Black women, because they come out and vote at higher rates than Black men. And even the outreach to Black women is mostly superficial. Most politicians do not like making specific promises to us because they think it will alienate white voter. We desperately need a real Black lobbying group.

How you figure? I’m advocating for the straight black man :jbhmm:. White supremacist and #TheAgenda(black feminist and the LGBTQ) constantly work against us.
I get what you are saying but I think it is too broad of a statement. I have seen people make an attempt to make Black men the face of sexual harassment like that Holler Back Campaign, which was proven to have extreme racial bias against Black men. There also been an attempt to make Black Men the face of homophobia.

However the reason I say your statement is too broad is that a lot of Black women fighting against sexism are unfairly labeled as anti Black men feminists. I know a few Black women that talk about the specific challenges they face and simultaneously speak out against white racism.

Same thing with LBGQ. I get irate when the media mentions all the black trans women being killed without giving any type of context. I did research on this subject a few months ago and found that most of the trans women that were murdered were basically homeless, and some of them were sex workers. Of course that is a more dangerous lifestyle. On top of that there has been less than 20 trans Black women murdered this year. Not to downplay it but the way the media was talking I thought the number would be much higher. If you go into the data you would find that black trans people get discriminated against in the work place and it harder for them to get hire and keep jobs. That leads a lot of them to become homeless, and therefore becoming more vulnerable to attacks. That is not the fault of Black men. Most of the people in management that have the power to hire and fire people are not black men. It is just another way to scapegoat us. But I have seen some Black LBTQ people speak on these issues as well.

While I believe that it is important to call out the bullshyt, we must do it in a way that don’t downplay the struggles of any group of Black people.

Black men vote at relatively low rates so of course politicians will be less inclined to address our issues :yeshrug:

That's why Tariq's whole strategy of telling black people to vote even less :mjlol: is completely ass backwards

He knows nothing about politics or government. If he want reparations like he claim, there is no way that would hold up with all the White Supremacists judges that Trump putting in the federal courts.

I do agree that the Dems too often take our vote for granted, and that we need a strategy to get specific Black issues addressed. But not voting won’t solve that problem. The only thing that will do is make dems pander even more to Reagan Democrats.

Yes I mean everything always lacks context. The root of the problem is poverty, marginalization and discrimination but eeveryone likes to focus on the output rather what actually causing disproportionate issues.

He’s Alive!
I have seen some media on this. Curious as to why people feel this way?
Social conditioning of the big black brute. Also the over / biased reporting, that lacks context.

Black people are also over represented as villains and engaging in unhealthy vices through their depiction. in the media, so this drives peoples subconscious.
