Gasol is 7'0" without shoes, Okafor is 6.9.5" without shoes, they're not that close in height.

It's fair to say he will never be an elite defender, he can improve but expecting him to be one of the best in a league that now has Gobert, Nerlens and Brow patrolling the paint is a bit much (Embiid has the potential to be elite as well).

Nah I don't expect that at all. But he can become a solid defender with his other measurements and willingness to get better on that end.

Maybe today it would but who knows in the future. Both are better defenders than given credit for. Again Draymond Green is smaller than Randle and he made all D. Green has a longer wingspan but shorter reach. Again D is more effort than anything. Can't say the same on the offensive end.

they were doing that plenty of times before and doing the 3 peat with Shaq guarding the pick roll.

Draymond is an outlier, using him as an example of why Randle will be able to defend at a high level is kind of since there are more guys Draymond's size that flat out sucked at defending. Randle is bigger than Ben Wallace, doesn't mean he's going to defend like him

Putting Randle and Okafor together is a small frontcourt no matter how you slice it. Drummond and Monroe are both 6'11" in shoes, but Monroe being slow footed hindered them on defense.

Worst defense in the league can't get much worse. At least they'll score more.

I'm sure it'll be rough seas for a few years, but they're still babies. I wouldn't give up hope right away.
