I know it's asking a lot for award shows to be unpredictable but geez
I do think its an interesting debate on what plagirism really constitutes.Possibly. Tough debate
Is the newsroom really that bad? I never actually watched it.
And by change how people watch you mean ignoring the show for 90% of it's existence and then binge watching 4 and half seasons a week before the series finale so they could talk about it with people on Twitter and be in the "in" crowd. Yeah breh, totally agree.and Breaking Bad has pretty much changed how people watch TV series these days...
Lol not quite that extreme but the show was never popular until season four. And by change how people watch you mean ignoring the show for 90% of it's existence and then binge watching 4 and half seasons a week before the series finale so they could talk about it with people on Twitter and be in the "in" crowd. Between the Season 5b premiere and the series finale there was almost a 5 million viewer increase. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't.Lol not quite that extreme but the show was never popular until season four.
I still think the first two seasons are pretty mediocre.

Do you ever binge-watch anything?
Benioff: I watched the first four and a half seasons of Breaking Bad in two intense, half-marathon bursts. What Vince Gilligan and his team have created with that show is nothing short of American art. I don't have enough superlatives to throw his way. When I met Vince, I was hoping he'd be a douche bag so I could hate him with a clear conscience, but the sad truth is that he's the nicest guy in the world.
Netflix changed the way people watch TV...Breaking Bad was just a beneficiary of the change Netflix brought to the landscape.Yeah, that's exactly how the writers of "Game Of Thrones" watched it too:

So yes, this is a good example of how "BB" changed how people watch TV. It's the most binge watched show in the era of binge watching. It was the #2 most bootlegged show in 2013, only behind "GOT", which is on pay cable. It's the #1 most watched show on Netflix, too:

Before the advent of the internet, DVRs, Netflix, etc. you couldn't watch a heavily serialized drama when you wanted to. "BB" is at the forefront of that movement, regardless of how you feel about it.
Fred.

Netflix was a natural extension of that. I used to skip watching shows live and just buy the box set so i could binge watch full seasons. Family guy famously was brought back because of dvd sales.
Like you said breaking bad owes the shows popularity to technological advances.
Bb is probably the most a show has ever benefited by the change. But giving the show itself credit for the change is laughable fan boyism.
also how the fukk does that Modern Family keep winning every year
