Florida has zero reason to be rankedESPN was being fortunate(typically, because of their interests) because other publications have UF between 22-25...
Florida has zero reason to be ranked
Thats what these preseason polls are designed for, conversation until the action starts soWell, I like I was saying.... ESPN has to protect their investment(SEC network)so any positive pub it can receive or conjure for the SEC, they will gladly take.
In all fairness, as an OU fan, Sporting News rated OU too high(#1).... There's no way that OU is the number one team in the nation even after beating Bama and Trevor Knight having an anomaly of a game. Florida State(AKA the champions)should be numero uno until someone beats them. I could see OU being rank at #3 after FSU and Oregon but #1 is too high and probably so is #3 but pubs and media(well, maybe ESPN will) won't rank OU below Bama or Auburn because of last season's ending.
Before OU can claim the #1, Trevor Knight needs to show more consistency, Mike Stoops needs to find another lock-down CB to replace Aaron Colvin and another S for Gabe Lynn on top of improving the safety play, shoring up the run defense(finished #24 in the nation) and hope either the WR's that we have or the ones coming in this summer step up and make plays for this playoff/title run that we're supposed to be on.... A lot of questions for a supposedly #1 team.
Thats what these preseason polls are designed for, conversation until the action starts so
