Right, it had nothing to do with Vince pushing cartoon character gimmicks and refusing to adapt to the times. The kliq was pushing for the attitude era years before it started, Vince didn't do so until WCW/Kliq South was kicking their ass in the ratings. Then Vince turned to DX/Kliq North to start the attitude era
Hated Miz's run but that feud with Lawler was kinda good.

You also have to look at different eras the 90's pre attitude era is not the same as mid-2000's post attitutde era
But the writer is using a small sample to base his results. Hes not taking into account any houseshow numbers, merch sales, etc. Its more to drawing then ratings and PPV buys. Bret had a huge following in Canada/Overseas. Drew big in places Germany. Same with Shawn. Had a middle east tour that summer that did huge.Then of course you have to figure in other factors like NWO, overall interest, etc
