I don't really like this trend of trading players after a couple of years of not winning it all, I mean they still have only had ONE full year together (10-11) under Thibs, I feel Taj Gibson can improve and maybe be a serious 2nd or 3rd option. Not sure that if they trade Noah or Deng they can get better, which might lead to another trade in a couple of years, and so on...why not let this group grow together, it's not like anyone is old either.

i think this is a great point, up until rose got hurt, the bulls were ballin', their chemistry is great, and noah is such a way better player than i thought he'd be in the nba, their core is set other than boozer.. id be dumping boozer and keeping the rest of the core team and maybe trying to get some more bench play or shut down specialists.. but the team as a whole.. i think is amazing and shouldn't be broken up

We're not looking to trade Noah and/or Deng because we didn't win. We're looking to do it because Rose got hurt, will miss most of the year and the chances of us being a contender next year are slim.

Taj and Asik are looking at new deals this summer. We're going to have to sign a starting caliber point guard to hold down the fort til Rose comes back. To do all that means spending a lot of money for a team that probably won't be a contender. To sign the pg, and keep Taj and Asik means we have less to spend on the rest of the bench, so our bench gets weaker.

The plan after next year was to retool anyway. Deng's contract will be expiring, Mirotic will be coming over, we'll probably amnesty Boozer then, we'll have some capspace. Rose's injury just gives us the chance to do that retooling earlier.

It just amkes me laugh all these loyalty people keep yelling stay with the team that drafted you but the team will trade you at the drop of a hat!!! Remember they "Loved" grant hill too...in detroit

Grant Hill getting traded allowed Detroit to get building blocks for their title runs in the mid 2000s...

:smugdraper: glad that nikka did want out,Pistons didn't lose like TOR/CLE.

it actually started before the 98 season, The Bulls GM thought "organizations win titles, not players..." Jorda didn't like or respect him. neither did scottie or phil. so the fat fukk let's phil go after signing back to back 1 year deals, once phil walked Jordan retired and scottie was dealt to Portland. thus ending the Dynasty :pacspit: on that fat fukk

Scottie was traded to Houston to play with Charles' "Sorry Fat Butt"

Yeah, our Bulls have to make some hard decisions. Defense is important but getting stops is only as good as your ability to put the ball in the cup on the other end. We are not a team that can runaway with a game and get easy wins so we have to sacrifice some defense for offense. I wish we coulda got either Rudy Gay or Kevin Martin coming into this year but it looks like we'll have to pick from the scrap heap. Call me crazy but I'm not sold on Harrison Barnes, he plays stiff bball to me.

Yeah that's exactly how I feel

I understand what you're saying breh, and I admit I don't have all the info contract-wise. But still, why you gonna "retool" when the team was the best regular season team two years in a row, and that core has just been playing together for TWO years (including a shortened season mired with injuries)? Rose getting injured doesnt mean you HAVE to trade the core IMO, unless that dramatically improves the team, which I kind of doubt. I just fear these could be the kind of moves that could have the Bulls retooling again in 3 years, and never really leaving a team develop.

On a sidenote one of my biggest fears for the League is that teams get caught up with with Boston winning the first year of the Big 3 and Miami in the second and start not having patience to build up a team.

HOUSTON -- Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng revealed this weekend that he will not be surprised if the Bulls trade him this offseason.
But Deng, 27, did acknowledge that he's not dismissing recent reports suggesting the Bulls are willing to trade him for a top pick in Thursday's NBA draft, with speculation mounting that Chicago could send Deng to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for the No. 7 overall pick.
"I believe there is always to some extent truth behind rumors," Deng said. "But as an athlete, if you get caught up in them, you are really wasting your time because it's not something you can control.

"If it's not true, a GM could always come out and say it's not true. But if a GM doesn't come out and say it, there are probably talks. And there should be. If I was a GM I would be shopping players around too. I've got to show that I'm doing something."

I agree,

and trading noah isnt the smartest thing to do he's one of the best centers in the league doesnt make any sense at all. Another thing I would rather the bulls trade deng than noah if it came down to it. Taj and Asik are great defenders but both can be liablities on offense is that who they want to roll with? :what:

And it was bullshyt when he said it then.

So now the Bulls can't trade anybody now because it makes us un-loyal?

when players are a major piece and are productive.. yea that is unloyal

Even if it's to improve the team?

If the Thunder were to trade Harden for a lotto pick, which would make it easier to sign Ibaka, would that make the Thunder an un-loyal franchise?

You're essentially saying the Bulls can't trade anyone in their top 8.

No its the equivalence to the thunder trading westbrook for expiring contracts and high lottery picks to sign both harden and ibaka and yes they would be a un-loyal franchise. free agents damn sure wouldnt sign there knowing you can be traded any minute while being productive.
