Wcw was pretty much dead after that aol time warner merger anyway
They wanted nothing to do with wrestling
I see no scenerio where wcw survives

Still crazy to think it's been 20 years damn

In hindsight, a dark day in the business for wrestlers and fans.

It certainly was a dark day but at time I thought the shyt was kinda wild to have WCW go out like it did and WWE become king of the wrestling business at the time.

Going back to think about it WCW going under was BAD in the long term for wrestling in general. The first 2-3 yrs after under WWE's brand extension it was dope see Booker T, Rey Mysterio, RVD, Steiner, & Flair under one roof and the different interpromotional matches.

WWE really started to fall off around 2006. Guys like Austin, Rock, Goldberg, Lesnar, Eddie (death), & Angle were all gone by 2006. The only guys they had were Cena & Batista who were good for that Ruthless Aggression Era but it's hard af to replace the top 2 draws from the late 90s and WWE haven't come anywhere close to doing it.

WWE has consistently lost a lot of fans each year after WCW closed down. Which is crazy to me.

WCW going out of business was one of the worst things to happen to the business. 2000 was bad for WCW but they were making improvements the last two months they were in operation.
Yeah, man. I remember AJ was on the rise in a tag team. They could’ve had something with the cruiserweight tag titles.

I was one of those hardcore fans that stopped watching wrestling a couple of years after WCW's demise. Around spring or summer 2003 I believe. I would occasionally watch a little bit of Raw, Smackdown, and eventually TNA when they got on Spike but really didn't start watching consistently again until CM Punk's pipe bomb in 2011.

I wish bischoff could have purchased and turner didn't cancel all wcw shows.

Would've been a disaster like everything Bischoff touched after 98. Would've basically been his TNA run with Hoegan running shyt and employing all his buddies. All the good talent would've jumped ship to WWE once their contracts were up.

To me it's more interesting to think what would've happened to ECW if Paul E had got his finances together and ECW survived a couple of more years....Danielson, Samoa Joe, Punk, AJ etc in ECW would've been :wow:

Possibly but it would still be better than only one major company existing.
