No, Jordan wouldn't get shut down, nowhere did I even imply that. What would happen though is his teammates would struggle because the spacing simply isn't there when there aren't multiple 3 point threats on the floor. Teams would load up the strongside, the entire defensive philosophy by Thibs is designed to make great scorers work while limiting their teammates, which is why there's been an explosion of 3s. Teams didn't just decide to take more 3s, it's a result of the defense taking advantage of teams with conventional lineups.

The next evolution will be at the PF spot, a guy that can matchup with the smaller 4s and beat them up in the paint while also being able to shoot the 3.

What I should have said was that's not gonna win you the game. But either way u don't know basketball. U can bring up numbers and I won't care about your punk ass numbers. All I gotta do is watch to let you know who will win

As someone who thinks we're in another Golden Era for the NBA, you can't flatly compare the eras like this.

The philosophy of the game has obviously changed a great deal in just the past five years, let alone 20-25.

If all this information and analytics was adopted/accepted with the same enthusiasm in the 80s/90s, those teams and players would have played a different style of ball.

Coaches in the 80s would have had a stroke if two guys ran to the corners for a three instead of filling the lane for a layup. :dead:

I think the game is changing for the better, but that doesn't mean those players and teams from the past were neanderthals.

I've already said big men were better, and MJ is obviously the best player ever, but at the end of the day if you just look at how teams are constructed and how they play today, they are better. People are too caught up with nostalgia to really examine what's going on, and nobody has been able to explain how a team that makes 2 threes a game while playing at a faster pace, would be able to beat another team playing at a slower pace that makes 10+ a night.

I agree we're in a golden era which is why I made the thread, it gets old hearing people shyt on the current league because of their fond memories. It's no different then people acting like the 60s Celtics would have beaten the 90s Bulls.

What is this supposed to prove?


The Bulls scored 5.1ppg on 3 pointers that year, the Bucks led the league in 3s made per game and averaged 13.5 ppg on threes (4.5 per game).



The Wolves scored 14.7ppg from 3 pointers (4.9 a game) while the league leader this year scored 33.9ppg. That is a massive gap.......the Wolves were the worst team in the league because of their defense as well, why not compare the Warriors to the Bulls :mjpls:
