I've almost never seen a team be less succesful with a stretch 4 than a old school style 4. Even if you give up a little bit defensively, the spacing you get and the ability to take bigs out of the paint is invaluable. Obv,I'd take Al Jefferson over Steve Novak but I mean for the most part it always works.
I have a feeling someone will bring up Tristan Thompson but the Cavs were already killing with Love (36-7 last 43 games with LeBron) and there is no way they are actually better with Thompson,even if the D is slightly improved
Cavs are top 4 in threes made, and they often play Thompson at the 5 so that they can have 3 shooters on the floor.
These teams in the 90s NBA had 1 shooter and he'd make like 2 threes a game.
