LOL, ok bruh. Crime rates are down all across the black community. Blacks have more money and power than than ever before. But you pining for something that looks great in picture Good luck with that.

Breh, you need to slow down. Crime went up in the black community after the 60s for a few reasons. One was the introduction of drugs into the community during and after the Vietnam War by the government. Later, the creation of drug laws along with DEA, ATF, the FBI's Countelpro to stifle the black power movement. Our unity economically and socially was a great fear of racist cacs like J Edgar Hoover. The reduction in the number of black owned businesses through the introduction of Asian and Arab immigrant businesses into the black community. You need to see the articles that were passed around in Asia, especially Korea on how they can live off of black dollars. That is why so many set up shop in the black community. The US government gave them the blueprint on how to exploit you. Last but not least, the welfare reform policies that were created to destroy the black family. Once you destroy a community's families, you destroy its ability to unify.

shyt like that makes me wonder why afros and Afrocentric hairstyles is no longer accepted in professional settings. :wtf:

Because we mostly work in white owned business breh. The sheikh that wears a turban on his head is more than likely self-employed or works for his people. When you work for whitey, he tells you that your fro is not acceptable.

I just don't understand how everyone went down so bad after integration

Maybe it was never meant to happen

Because we lost ourselves trying to make those that hate to like us. We fought to eat at white owned restaurants and sleep in their hotels. Think about that for a second, we wanted to add more money to the the evil cacs pockets and he was like "we don't need your money niqqer".Eventually, they allowed us to "socially" integrate on their terms. What we really needed was economic integration. We threw away our black businesses, banks, knowledge of self form acceptance by whites. Once whites said, you can do business with us, we stopped doing business with our own people. A prime example is the Negro Leagues, the white man told us that if we get rid of the Negro Leagues, they will take "some" of our players. We committed economic suicide for white acceptance and killed one of our economic children before it could reach its potential. If blacks stood firm and said no, we will keep our Negro Leagues or make them do a merge to keep black ownership, Today, we would have many sports black billionaire teams owned by blacks and employing mostly black people.. Just like white owners employ mostly white people. A merge is an example of true integration which was economic. You see cacs don't mind having black people around if they can make money off of them as long as the black man is not in a position of ownership. Afterall, whites were socially integrated with blacks under slavery...blacks just couldn't own therefore had no power but they were exploited the white man and his family's gain.

To be fair, America's working class itself went down starting with the attacks on unions and people like that.

Unions made all those nice, pretty family pictures you see possible.

It allowed generations of Blacks in Detroit, Chicago, New York, etc. . . to move up into the middle class.

Republicans started dismantling the middle class in the '70s and wages haven't gone anywhere since the mid 70s.

Then Reagan came in and squashed all the working class which effected Blacks the most because we lived in cities, so all those good union jobs were gone.

Black men started turning to the streets because the good labor jobs were gone.

Crack came and just wiped out all the progress.

So, it wasn't as much desegregation as much as it was America has dismantled the working class which allowed Black people to reach it's middle class.

a lot of revisionist nonsense getting thrown around in here but i guess black and white pictures have the tendency to make everything look so dignified. for one everyone dressed that way then it was the main style and we were following it just as we follow the popular styles nowadays. if you look at some of those pictures closely you can see much more garbage and grime in the background than in some of the worst hood nowadays. and if we were so united and upstanding how can just a few decades destroy all of that? the fact is were much more uneducated and there were a lot of problems just below the surface and when things changed economically in the 70's and 80's we were not equipped to deal with those changes.

Some truth in here.

The '70s and '80s were America at it's most violent and places like New York City and L.A. look like hellholes in comparison with today.

BUT, there has been a destruction of the middle class, especially the Black middle class that is reflected in this pics.

One thing that is ALWAYS noticeable about these old black pictures, is our STYLE back then. Everyone was always dressed nice. They may not have had alot of money, but were always dressed up in nice outfits.

It'd be dope if some rich black celeb went back todressing like this and influenced a whole new generatino of fashino

What are you talking about?

All rappers do is talk about fashion now. All these nikkaz do is name check designer fashions and shyt
