so much more dignified the race was back then in spite of racial hardships...from dress to attitude to morals. the 70's is where things started going downhill (post civil rights oddly enough) with the whole "pimp" culture. smh.black women looked so much better back then

because social conditioning hadn't yet taken its hold on the black female. propaganda that painted white women as the standard for beauty wasn't yet as pervasive or, better yet, accessible as it is now in our digital age. black women loved themselves during that period. whereas now, they're ashamed of their own hair and skin, which sees them try to emulate a white appearance that is clearly incompatible with their original beauty.
