$15.00 an hour isn't a lot of money.

:rudy: 15 dollars an hour is enough to live off of and still have some $$$ after you've paid your bills (unless you live in LA or NYC)

that's what I was making 10 years ago when i first entered corporate america; I did just fine. better than most actually.

:whoa: I wasn't BALLING though. I was driving a semi-nice paid off car, and I had an apartment.

the problem is everybody wants to live above their means; gotta have the latest clothes, cars, and shoes, rims for the whip, a sound system etc etc..

grow up first and you'll realize 15 dollars an hour is just fine. :coffee:
I live under my means and dont have these problems :whew:

3 kids are not eating off of $15 an hour bruh. There's government intervention going on or her child support checks are looking nice.

You can not live good and raise 3 kids by yourself making $15 hourly, it's impossible.
St. Louis is not expensive. Granted I couldn’t do what she does but my mortgage is more than hers and I have a car note and expensive habits. But shes done it. She is not getting child support I’ve talked to her about this recently. She isn’t going to be in this situation long term because of where she works and promotions but the reality is you have to below poverty to get help.

After losing a contract back in March i picked up a job making $16/hr. It was absolutely terrible, considering that i stay in the bay and own a home. The running joke in our house to this day is that this was a period of unemployment for me. Got a call a few months ago from an old coworker asking if i wanted to come back to our old job, and now I'm making in three days, what i was bringing home every two weeks with the $16 job fortunately. I learned a lot from that experience though, so it wasn't all bad.

$16 was enough for me 15 years ago when the cost of living wasn't so insane out here and i didn't have a kid, mortgage, and property taxes to worry about though. I don't think it's possible to live out her off that without a roommate or two these days though.

had a hood chick who was 31 - with a teenager - argue me up and down that a man shouldn't wear the same pair of shoes twice a week

and she stayed with her momma. and she DAMN SURE wasn't making 15 dollars an hour.

people out here are crazy and think they're normal.
And thats not a chick worth even dealing with. I probably rock the same pair of busted up vans everywhere i go, despite have about 20 other pairs of kicks......

Not to mention i have a couple kicks i still haven't worn, despite having them a few years.....

In 2017 it's like getting paid $8.00 an hour.

I would rather pay 1 person $15.00 than 2 people $8.50.

At the end of the day the problem of minimum wage has more to do with supply and demand. Too many people in the workforce market.

The other problem is government regulations, taxes and credit systems that make it hard for people to start businesses.

Tell that to the man making 7.25 an hour. Its not about how much you make, its about how you freak what you got?

The bay is a completely different world though, that's like trying to survive off $15 an hour in midtown Manhattan.
