Anyone betting on this? Post them up.
I think this is his biggest weakness. However if he sets traps and lets Ruiz come to him I think he’ll knock Ruiz out. Chasing Ruiz down is just going to gas him out especially with inefficient movement. I hope Joshua strikes forcefully out the gate. This is a tough fight to call but having thought about it I have Ruiz by KO or points. I feel Joshua sticking behind the jab and tying him up will not be enough, Ruiz will be very confident he can hurt Joshua and has the skills to outbox him too. If I was Ruiz, I would outbox him the early rounds, close the distance and pop shot, go to the body and use footwork, and then take him out later rounds when Joshua tires. Joshua has to be light on his feet for Ruiz and I am not sure he has the skillset to be. Joshua can either try close it early and stick/move with the jab but he faces challenges - he exchanges early he faces a tough Ruiz who can already hurt him. Late Ruiz will throw caution to the wind if he is down on the scorecards and come at Joshua, when Joshua notably slows down later in the fight, and is susceptible to being hit. I could see Ruiz also winning on points, dropping Joshua late but Joshua holding on. It can of course go either way, especially if Hearn and the Saudi drop some money (wink wink) but stylistically I see Ruiz. I would actually love to see Ruiz-Wilder, I find that match up intriguing. Boxer and puncher, with good hand speed may be the guy to take out Wilder although with Wilder, he has the equaliser.
Andy maybe paid to lay down anyway.......I saw in the face off Ruiz trying to give AJ psuedo confidence by not completely calling him out on qutting and other areas, where AJ was visibly bothered.....Ruiz stopped short of taking AJ soul in that face off, dont understand this nice shytListening to the Chris Mannix podcast right now. Sergio Mora talking about he heard from some people that Andy has been doing the bare minimum in training, and to expect him to weigh more and not less than the first fight. The weight part now turns out to be true. Joshua better not lose to this fat slob a second time.
