I rewatched the fight, was a very good performance from AJ, healthy he looked like a different fighter. First fight he looked so flat, this time he looked switched on and stronger.
Think he won every round apart from the 8th, and even then he wasn't in huge trouble, he was taking the shots better. The 4th was a close round, Ruiz landed a few shots in the latter stages but think gave it to AJ but it's a debateable round, other than that feel like he won every round clearly.
When some say he just ran it isn't really true, he was getting in quite a lot of good shots. He busted Andy up, he just didn't go in recklessly gung ho which would have been a stupid thing to do when he didn't need to. At times it felt like he was landing at will, he was jabbing him consistently and landed some good solid shots that rocked Ruiz too. The object of boxing is to hit and not get hit, this isn't a bar fight where they just stand there and punch off to see who goes first. If you want to watch that go watch an amateur tough man competition or some shyt. This is boxing which is a skill and an art. AJ boxed superbly for the most part and dominated. And it's not at all like he wasn't throwing and landing punches. Could visibly see Andy troubled by some of the punches he received and frustrated by the footwork. So it was a top performance technically, tactically, physically and mentally.
