AJ showed he can stick to a boxing plan, when he has all the advantages. Smart play by him and his team.

Fight was pretty boring though, I was literally sleeping during Rounds 8/9/10/11

No head movement, no angles to get inside..couldnt bully him to get inside ala Tyson, Hagler, Spence. Sad sight.
He was shuffling instead of moving his feet. I didn't think the extra weight would hurt him, but it did. AJ fights that fight he's gonna lose 99% of the time though.

Good win for AJ but AJ career is basically over as a great fighter. He will never be remembered as a great. Good entertaining champ but he just fought an unmotivated Ruiz like Ruiz really is a destroyer. Ruiz been an a over average HW for a long time. AJ treated him like he was the most dangerous Heavy of all time lol...

Ruiz just didn’t try hard enough. I’m an AJ fan but if you get somebody to pounce on AJ/Wlad it’s over. Ruiz took some from AJ that he will never get back. AJ fought good but he fought scared to death. Wlad lasted long like that no doubt but the world had higher hopes for AJ. AJ won’t even touch the heights of Lennox Lewis.

Lennox lewis is one of the best heavyweights to fight of all time. I don't see AJ reaching his level, everything else is on point though.

I agree with that tho. AJ will never be “great” in my eyes. Luckily for him this is a weak era.

AJ was reacting horribly to getting hit by Ruiz in the trenches.

Not sure I agree on this, if AJ runs through all his current mandatories and beat fury or wilder he's definitely a legend for sure. Is he the best? That's pretty subjective. He'd have some really good victories on his name by the time he hits 33-34

For beating a washed Wlad+Fury/Wilder and some mandos? Not enough to invoke legend status IMO.

Legend of his era I think that's tough in this era though but his resume aint trash let's hypothetically look

Ruiz
Dillion whyte
Uzyk( if it happens)
Pulev( mandatory)
Joseph parker
Semi washed wlad
Povetkin pre roid catch
A fury or wilder

Really good resume. Probably will be fed michael hunter soon too

Tbf that version of Wlad is still better than any opponent a current HW has beaten except Fury (Wlad when he was a little younger) and Ruiz (Joshua)

when you take into account he was stopped in his last fight, he was fine. This is why many people suggested a warm up.

That stoppage was the only reason I wasn’t confident in picking AJ, just because you never know how people bounce back from those type of things.

AJ has by far the best resume of the current heavyweights, it's not close. Will see what happens when it's all said and done but currently he's way ahead of them in that regard and commercially.
Wouldn't say that he's way ahead cause he lost to Ruiz which was a big upset and Fury beat a younger version of Wlad and also should have gotten the nod vs Wilder (I accept if you don't count that though as the official result was a draw).
So it's between him and Fury. Joshua with beating top 10 opponents consistently but also losing once in a big upset and Fury with the best single win and occasional standout performances against top opponents but without Joshua's consistency of fighting top 10 opponents, he basically either fights very hard fights or super easy ones (at least on paper, sometimes it can turn out different like with Wallin), really only a few "in-between" (Chisora).
Wilder has longevity over Fury and AJ but doesn't have the consistent level of top opponents of AJ nor the standout wins of Fury.
