Still no ACA replacement plan, but GOP ads say it exists and is awesome
New online and TV ads say mystery plan will have better care, lower costs.

A GOP-affiliated group is spending more than $1.4 million to run digital and television advertisements that laud a Republican plan to replace the Affordable Care Act—despite the fact that the party has yet to present any such plan, Roll Call reports.

The ads have been launched by the American Action Network, a conservative advocacy group linked to House GOP leadership. These materials say the unidentified plan will create a health insurance system that has “more choices,” “better care,” and “lower costs” than the ACA. The ads began running Thursday and Friday in districts of vulnerable Republicans, GOP leaders, and “rank-and-file” Republicans from very conservative states.

The roll out of the ads coincides with voting in the Senate and House on budget resolution legislation that paves the way for defunding and dismantling the ACA through a budget reconciliation process. The party is expected to go ahead with repealing the ACA despite not having a replacement plan in place.

This week, Democrats, several Republican Congress members, and President-elect Donald Trump expressed concern about a repeal without having a replacement plan ready. Trump insists that a replacement will be “essentially simultaneous” in his press conference Wednesday.

Since the ACA was enacted in 2010, several members of the Republican party have come up with competing plans. But party leaders have yet to publicly embrace any of them or create a unified plan. Each of the plans proposed so far would not guarantee that the 20 million or so Americans that gained coverage through the ACA would maintain that coverage.

Nevertheless, the new ads suggest such a plan exists and that it will not only maintain coverage under the ACA, but it will be much better than Obama’s signature healthcare law. On top of improving quality and reducing costs, the advertised solution will “provide peace of mind to people with pre-existing conditions” and get rid of “senseless regulations” that hamper new cures, according to the ad. “House Republicans have a plan to get there without disrupting existing coverage,” it says.

AAN expects the ads will get 8.1 million views by the end of the month. See it for yourself below.

wait so your $500 a month health care has nothing to do with the exchange (so basically nothing to do with obamacare). then you're telling me they thought your income was low enough to qualify for expanded medicaid in your state but you refused it out of some it's a waste of tax payer money to provide me with healthcare bullshyt? so you refuse free healthcare and are bytching about high premiums that you seek out on your own independent of the obamacare exchange?
Premiums went up because insurance companies have to take on people who lose them money (higher risk).

And you really think I should take taxpayer money? Someone who has $XX,XXX in the bank...
...and my girl makes $XXX,XXX.

Sunday we leave for a vacation in Italy.

Medicaid is for people like us?

my point wasnt about me though...
it was about the effect Obamacare has on small business owners.

Its tough on them.
Thats something I dont see anybody on the left bring up.

Are you familiar w/ the issues a lot of government regulation creates for small business?

Do you want a corporate economy where we all work for corporations and government?

Why does this issue have to be black and white...where, anyone that is against Obamacare is a racist/sellout/ignorant person?

:patrice:The party of Christian values seems to think Jesus wouldn't heal lepers or the blind because of their pre-existing conditions.

:picard::gucci::whoo::ohlawd::banderas:

Seriously fukk these clowns. This is why the left really needs to make the most out of this opportunity cuz there's gonna be a lot more angry and confused white people out there.

I grew up poor and always had medical... Are you telling me kids under 18 wont have medical any longer? I find that hard to believe...

Pharma needs to pay regardless.
You had Medicaid as a kid because your parents were under certain income requirements. They want to make it harder for poor people to qualify for Medicaid, thus making it harder for poor kids to have Medicaid.
Just in case you thought he was lying....

And medicaid is only extended to adult with children or adults with disabilities.....

Maximum monthly income limits
Family size One Parent Two Parent
1 $152 --------
2 $262 $227
3 $313 $334
4 $376 $384
5 $426 $448
Each additional person, add: $69 $69

Health Care | How to Get Help
Jeez I didn't realize limits were so low some states. That's insane. People don't realize that even if you qualify for public benefits like Medicaid, the second you get a better job you could lose them (even if your job barely puts you above the income levels).

I don't want to hear any of that Pro-life bullshyt anymore out of conservatives or republicans when they voted damn near unanimously to kill off thousands of people by denying them health insurance :francis:

They want to repeal it.

However, without the mandate you can't cover pre-exisiting conditions. Both are needed. Can't have one or the other or the only people in the pool will be those that are sick, aka the people who need it, and insurance companies will bail even more and raise premiums.

I am no fan of Obama Care. I think the real reason it's being totally erased is because of the name. OBama Care. They don't want a black man's name on something like that.

It won't have an affect on whether someone who is 26 and under CAN stay on their parents plan. Insurers are still required to maintain that level of benefit coverage.

However, if your parents premium skyrockets, then they'll have to make the personal decision about whether they should drop you or not.
