Exactly.I don't think people remember how horrible of a situation idzik came into.
We were over the cap,had little talent, Tim Tebow,a bunch of horrible contracts,being instructed to unload revis,had rex forced on him etc.
Idzik entire first year was just cleaning up the mess Tanny left.
I don't think he was even a mediocre gm,but he definitely got railroaded in his short time here. I still feel like he wanted to cheap out and tank to get rex fired so he could get his own coach and have a shyt ton of cap for said coach.
Ultimately most of his draft picks didn't work out and thats a major problem when you want to build through the draft. Good plan,bad execution
Macc basically got to reap all the benefits that idzik sowed. No bad contracts,tons of cap,own coach,high draft picks.
Idzik was following orders. He was told not to spend. We all knew this. He should have made up for it by drafting well....something he fell woefully short at
