Because they let the whole Fitzpatrick saga drag out til the last possible minute. They went as far as telling Fitz if he didn't sign by the time TC started that the deal would be pulled off the table.
All that tells me is that they preferred Fitz. If they really had 0 faith in Geno, they wouldn't have let it drag out as long as they did. They would have caved to Fitz demands and he'd be a Jet much sooner
It didn't drag out though. There was an offer on the table since March. It's not like he missed any of camp. Dragging out would be him missing preseason...

And the offer was about to get pulled had Fitz not showed up before training camp. If they really had 0 faith they would have caved in to Fitz demands and upped the offer
I don't remember the ins and outs of all of the demands that Fitz made, but I thought that the jets did cave. I do remember a report in June that he was willing to take 1yr/12mil. He got that.
I'm not sold on Fitz being anything above an average QB in the league. Bowles was a new head coach and trusts him more than Geno. Geno has no ties to Bowles or Mac and when he had the chance to take the starting job, he fukked up. I think Geno has the talent to succeed but unless Fitz gets hurt, it won't be with the Jets.

They both came in at the same time. Both got stuck with rex. Both got stuck with the mess the previous regime left. Both had little talent to work with. Both became pariahs for the fanbase to blame everything on. Both had to watch the next guys come in (fitz,macc) and watch them reap all the benefits from which they suffered for.
If fitz had to play with the same team geno did he would look horrible. Imagine fitz chucking up his wobblers to David Nelson and Clyde gates

Backs in today's nfl are pretty interchangeable. As long as you have a few ok ones you're fine
It's honestly one of the least important positions in today's nfl . The most important thing a back needs to do now is pick up the blitz
I don't believe this to be true.
If Bilal and ivory aren't hurt for the Buffalo game we would have won that game.
RB has become the most underrated position in football.

Breno is one of my least favorite signings in recent memory. I'm really hoping that one of these young cats can take a leap with the extra reps and looks because even when he's healthy Giacomini (sp?) doesn't give me any confidence.
