Basically the entire season is all of Fitzpatrick when we knew going in he was a game manager. If the atrocious special teams improves and the defense gets better- the Jets can afford average out of the QB. What they cant afford are ridiculous pick 6's and sacks.

You and I both know the defense would have to be good as the Broncos last year to win anything with Fitz and news flash our defense isn't half as good as them. Fitz limits the hell out of this offense because he can't throw pass 20 yards and you think we can win like that in playoffs ? Our defense is not that good to push Fitz along

To say he's some unknown potential prize isn't really accurate. Maybe everything changes in training camp, but honestly with contracts and everything else considered. Geno Is probably the most likely to be cut
Hackenberg was just taken in the 2nd round and Geno is on his last year of a rookie deal. If you cut Petty there's a chance Hack is the only qb you have after this season. And you don't want that
So don't be shocked if Geno gets moved or cut

Overall grand picture I agree. If we could turn back time, lose to the Titans and Dolphins, draft Mariota or Jameis...and not spend recklessly in free agency last year because of the billboard dopes, we'd probably be better off. But the owner wanted us to spend...and when you spend you have to play the best QB. Pairing Geno or Hackenberg with this offense and this staff wasnt going to happen with Marshall, Forte and Decker on the roster.
Geno will be the backup which is fine. I dont see any reason to move him at this point unless he wants to be released.

I doubt they're going to keep 4 QBs and cutting Petty means hack is the only guy you have under contract past this season.
I doubt there's really any chance Geno re-signs and unless Fitz has a miracle season he's probably not back, so it's a tricky situation for you guys

You and I both know stats never tell the whole story. He suffered from bad coaching and bad weapons on offense so you have to put things in context. Y'all have to understand why we want Geno to start. We're not winning anything with Fitz and we will be lucky to make playoffs so why not give Geno a chance with good coaching and weapons. Look at how Chain Gailey made Fitz look, you have fans who clamor for him because Gailey made a quarterback who can't throw pass 20 yards look good imagine what he can do for Geno.

That doesn't make sense seeing as how Fitz limits this offense. Teams know we can't throw deep with Fitz so they sit on short routes and play the run. Fitz hinders the offense

Yeah there's legit excuses for his shyt play ,and I can totally understand going with a guy who has perceived potential over a guy like Fitz, but the whole Geno situation with the jets just seems like a lost cause. Maybe I'm wrong but I can just see how they would move on from him
The Jets offense finished 14th overall last year and was 10th in passing. I'd consider Forte and upgrade from Ivory. If there's an improvement from the defense and from the specials(there has to be) this can easily offset the potential regression of the offense.
