"We are the Fury"
PFF using a throw when he was a True Freshman playing in a Power 5 conference as a strike against him.
It was one throw but Hackenberg was poor throughout his career and that is what PFF is primarily judging.
There also judging a pocket passer in a spread offense with an inept coach.
If we're gonna go by stats then all those big 12 qbs should get drafted so high since they put up video game numbers in that soft ass conference.
I don't like the kid myself but I'm not a gm who knows. I just don't like how the judging works with these sites . They'res so many variable in football especially for a Qb.
You obviously like Hackenberg, which is fine as far as it goes, but your defenses for him lack persuasiveness. Hackenberg is not the only pro style QB recruit to play in a spread system. Other pro style QBs have made the same transition and did so seamlessly from a throwing standpoint. The fact Hackenberg couldn't probably stems from the fact he has so many deficiencies, including weird accuracy and an inability to escape the rush. Those things things are actually traits which, for example, Cody Kessler--another pro style recruit--excels in. Kessler is deadly accurate and beats the rush with his pocket movement.
