Oof. Just saw the schedule. If they get to the bye at 5-5 throw a parade
A 5th round pick. 29 y/o and more a certainty at LT than anyone we could pick up in the draft.
I don't see the problem with it considering our e would have to wait on a young player anyway.
No starting LT around in the fifth round.
That requires depth and ability to find gems late. The Jets...Right but you're locking in a vet and giving no opportunity to a younger and much cheaper player(roster flexibility). Pats and Seahawks do this constantly. Throwing money all over the lot for free agents, especially without a long term solution at QB and were right back in Tannenbaum doom.
Funny how you say this and refuse to view Fitz and the waste of time he is in that.Right but you're locking in a vet and giving no opportunity to a younger and much cheaper player(roster flexibility). Agreed/Funny how you say this and refuse to view Fitz and the waste of time he is in that.
Second, LT isn't a place where you throw someone into. Typically, drafted LT start at the right side where they are groomed to move to LT. Clady signing is hurting no one players progress.
Stop it

@Trip
It's a 5th. How often do those pan out? Clady is a sure bet as long as he's fine. This could potentially be a steal.

If you consider league average QB play a waste of time when we've had 6 years of bottom of the league QB play I don't know what to tell you other than keep believing that. If they want to draft someone and start him by all means start that process.
And you see progress with playing time.
Would last year been much different if we never signed Skrine, washed up Cro or Gilchrist and Williams and Miles started? Doubtful...
Classic goal post move away from your long term opportunity talk to short term success production by a stop gap qb who hurts the opportunity you were first talking about.
Funny how you say this now but want the jets to lean on a 34 y/o journeyman that stops the progress a younger player can provide.
This above is irrelevant
Genos luck
Fitz retires, they let geno start. Clady and Marshall get hurt and due to the teams brutal schedule jets start 2-5.
Fan base blames geno
Petty or Geno.who Petty? That's 2-14.
And of course that's not irrelevant. Next man up is what good franchises do. They don't overpay for a lot corners
