I believe that Bowles is Fitz biggest supporter.
In fact, many believe that Bowles is partially to blame for the hit in negotiations. Reason being that he publicly guaranteed Fitz the starting job if coming back, therefore giving Fitz and his agent the ability to demand more than what he's worth (what we wanna give him)
Plus Fitz's agent is just using the market for starting QB's.

I think it's more so the Bradford deal. Bradford got way too much for how mediocre he has been

Bradford threw less interceptable passes than Fitz based on Football Outsiders. He also had a receiver core that failed him many times.

I think the main issues holding Bradford back last season might have been the piss-poor quality of his receiving options in in addition Kelly's hamstringing his audibles.s However Bradford still has the niggling problem that is his propensity to check down and shy away from downfield passes. While this proclivity might lead to fewer interceptions, it also has the negative consequence of lengthening drives and mitigating Bradford's offensive output overall.
