Of course there is robberys in mma all the time. Both sports use a lot of the same judges

For example Adalaide Byrd is terrible at judging both sports

Most people don’t know how to score fights, this was not a robbery at all, Francis was too inactive in some rounds and let furry control the quiet rounds with his jab. I didn’t score the fight while watching, but I knew it was close.

I mean after the calm, Tyson won on some cuban school of boxing shyt lol. I think the shock is more so how inefective he was on hurting Francis while francis clearly tagged him in ways that left damage.

Humbled... I was really surprised by the skill level of Francis but Fury didn't take him seriously until he was having trouble. Fury traditionally is a boxer, he fights from distance using his reach, and footwork beautifully. To beat Wilder in his second fight he adapted his style to engage more, i guess mid range. I notice however he lunges in throwing overhands or hooks to generate power like that.. I guess before he would box and then come inside and bounce out. Anywho, Francis countered really well and fights well mid range/short range, has a lovely hook and overhand. I think Fury thought he could fight the kronk way with Francis but he underestimated his skill level and resilience and strength. He should have just been the boxer and broken him down overtime. He kinda did that with Whyte actually... still embarrassed for him. He has ruined his legacy a bit.

How would you equate this to other sports?

a fcs team who just joined the fbs and beating georgia?
kipchoge beating a prime bolt in 100m?

Does the UFC ever have suspect scores? What's an example of a high profile UFC robbery?

by estimate, every fight card has questionable scoring. some are impactful, some are lone wolves who split with the other two judges. on that same estimate, about every quarter to twice a year there’s a bad to downright outrageous robbery.

Francis himself once made a comment (post UFC) how robberies are normalized to the point where it’s talked about for a couple days, then things quiet down, until the next one.

off the top of my head GSP vs Johnny Hendricks was a high profile robbery. and heavily disputed but Jon Jones vs Dominick Reyes was another.

Neither.

Fury is one of the top Heavyweights but he's not the top pro boxer, despite his popularity. He doesn't belong in the HOF. He's just really big and eats off his size advantage. The Heavyweight division sucks and has sucked for a while, but Fury gets hyped for obvious reasons. To compare him to UGA or Usain Bolt is beyond laughable.

That being said this is still incredibly impressive what Ngannou just did. This is like a random no name walk-on who played half a season of D1 college ball signing a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat... only to outplay Jimmy Butler forcing him to the bench by the all-star Break.

hAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :laff: :laff:

In boxing how is that laughable? Are you suggesting that

Edwards
Strickland
Jiri

Wouldn't get KO'd by Canelo in BOXING? Old man GGG could come off the couch RIGHT NOW and SPARK all 3 in less than 7 rounds.

One body shot from either of those dudes lays all 3 out in the ring.

This Ngannou fight got dudes thinking crazy. Doodoo HW division thinking Canelo, Bivol, Tank, The Monster or Crawford wouldn't lay out dudes a weight class or two higher in MMA is nuts. Bivol or Beterbiev STRETCHES OUT Jon Jones in the ring.

Name anyone in UFC from 135 to 155 that lasts 4 rounds with Tank. It will end on his terms and violently.

Brolic... Alcoholics
They wouldn't take is easy especially after seeing this and starch dude out.

This is what I've been trying to tell people. Fury didn't take this serious and now he looks like a fukkin fool. Wilder and Joshua know to take this shyt serious. Joshua would knock him out. Wilder would take his fukkin head off

interesting, i see people trying spin it like that's another aspect of boxing that's worse than mma
the worst robberies I’ve ever seen has been in boxing for sure, but that’s probably because there are so many rounds and it’s just an easier sport to score.

but iv seen some crazy robberies in mma also, where you can tell the shyt was clearly fixed.

I personally don’t think judges should score\watch the fight ringside, they all should be put in different rooms with 3 monitors showing different views that have no sound.

I think both the sports needs more 10-10 rounds Also.
