Overall I didn’t enjoy this show, but I thought the main event with Jericho and Allin was really good, best match of the night with storytelling and some cool shyt. The hands behind the back shyt and still doing some of the shyt Allin did is something I’d never seen before, I knew he was good already though. For the finish I would have probably preferred Jericho to beat him down brutally and then get the pin, maybe finish with his finisher but I understand the Hager punch to further establish The Inner Circle. I liked the celebration at the end too.
Pac is arguably the best wrestler in the company and 1 of the best wrestlers in the world, he excels in nearly every way. He’s very impressive, 1 day he deserves to be world champion. He’s a great talent and get for AEW.
Omega is a great athlete, I’m not sure he’s a great pro wrestler yet though, too often what he does seems telegraphed and it hurts the match to a trained eye. I’m a fan of his though because when he steps up he’s 1 of the best athletes in the business, some of the moves he did looked great, really intense and looked real. I just wish he’d focus a bit more in those small areas and cut out some of his flaws. If he does he’s got a tremendous upside, he has the athletic ability and he has charisma. At fast paced he’s 1 of the best in the world, he does seem to have good chemistry with Moxley too.
A word on Adam Page, I’m really liking him so far and see star potential in him, he’s got great stamina to do some of the moves he does in succession. And he can step it up too, he’s got an upside for sure.
Next week Pac vs Moxley is a main event level match. In regards to Jericho vs Cody I think Jericho should go over, I would have had the interference in that match actually, to protect Cody a little, the chase is important. I’d also have Ortiz and Santana go over The Young Bucks because it won’t hurt them at all, it’s believable because of the size and it would further establish The Inner Circle and give them something to boast about. Eventually Jericho could lose the belt to Cody at a big PPV but it doesn’t need to happen yet. The Young Bucks are such amazing athletes a loss won’t hurt them, it’s to much bigger stronger powerful guys, it should be competitive but for me I’d give Ortiz and Santana the win to get them over, Bucks gonna stay over cause they just too good. They will of course be tag team champions down the line as they should be.
So while I didn’t think the overall show was amazing was enough interesting stuff to make me wanna check next week, especially the Pac vs Moxley match announced, that could easily be on a PPV.
