The issue I see a lot of people make is they wanna hold coins literally meant to flip and trade.

Was giving this young breh advice on what to invest in at my job, I gave him chainlink ada and eth as starters cause he only got a few hundred to give, but he low key trying to make a big come up in only a few months

Now he may with those projects but I told him if you trying to make a quick buck you need to learn how to trade, otherwise, hold the top projects, and even then occasionally shave some profits off for reinvestment or to help pay your expenses when you need it.

This bullrun I'm gonna call the reverse run cause everyone trying to get rich off shytcoins and not the long-term projects.

Psychologically speaking Link and Eth will not look favorable to someone with only a few hundred to put in

So y’all think this is the end of Doge?

Who knows. I know I pulled about 75% of what I had in doge, once SNL was on and the price started doing the opposite of what it was projected to do :mjlol: The other 25% is in there "just in case". But mentally, I've checked out on doge. I was never really fully invested due to them having limited uses, starting as a meme, and having a shytty market cap.

shyt is crazy how Crypto makes people greedy. I helped a couple people make a few thousands and brehs are like, nah that ain't enough and they get addicted to that hodl life to "maximize profit". I haven't done as well as @A.V. but I highly suggest y'all follow dudes blueprint. This hodl life will more than likely result in you being left with holding a bag. Nothing wrong with taking profit, you end up with more money than you started. Brehs talking about investing in Shiba for years and I'm like :francis:. Bear market will likely come at some point and shiba likely won't even make it to the next bull run. But again proceed at your own risk. :hubie:

You smart. I agree. Ain't none of this shyt guaranteed.

You know how hard I'd kick myself if I passed up a 100k cash out, in the hopes of getting a 200k one, when I didn't invest 100k to begin with, and hadn't even heard of this coin a week ago? :mjlol:

You won't find a reference that specifies anything having to do with accounts tied to USD/bank account because there is no basis for that.

It's common knowledge that crypto-to-crypto trades on crypto-only exchanges such as ByBit or Bitmex are taxable events.

See for example:

Good look, I'll look into it and adjust accordingly.

Want to convert some of this SHIB gains to ETH but I’d hate to jump into ETH during a ATH.

Thoughts? @mannyrs13

Better to jump in during the ATH, than to look 6 months from now and the price is at 12k :lolbron:

It's just a chance & risk/reward you'll have to evaluate yourself. ETH is looking like the next Bitcoin, so I'd jump in now with as close to 4K as you can invest, but not trip about losing.

Brehs about to ride that SHIB price all the way back down. I tried to tell them to sell a percentage, take some profit, set a price to buy back in. Coin is cheap as shyt anyway, you can always buy back in, but they wanted to hodl :yeshrug:. Too afraid of missing a spike. One thing I've learned is shyt normally always retraces when there is a big spike, and when you don't think there is going to be a dip, there will be a dip.

Look. I hear what you're saying and you may be right.

But you sound like a boomer or institutional hedge fund guy that wants keep the little man down under the guise of "be careful". That's probably not your intent but I'm getting flashbacks to those clowns on CNBC during covid basically praying that retail investors get wiped out

obviously neither stocks or coins always go up. there are dips and corrections etc. some tank. thats common sense.

also..its not easy to just hop in and out of these alts

gas fee in, gas fee out, transfer fee to other wallets etc..thats why a bunch of people hold..they see they are up a certain % now but that doesnt take into account what its gonna cost to move the money around

I was with you until

:why: what on earth gives you that idea? what adoption or development have you seen that would lead to that?

Do you get taxed when adding coins to coinbase and when cashing out? Or just on the way out? Like if I move some Eth to coinbase and then sell it, do they tax that transfer between wallets or just the sale? I imagine only when you sell cuz if I move money from one bank account to another, they don't trip about that. But it's crypto and the feds hating so who knows.
every trade is a taxable event

or maybe sounds like someone who saw this same scenario in 2017 with these casino alts. Seeing amounts of money we'd never seen in our lives and how it came so fast, then disappeared just like that when the market fell. The whole time "HODLing" all the way down. When you could've just put it in BTC/ETH and been sitting real nice right now. It's your money, but people are trying to save newcomers from the pain they went thru 4 years ago

How does anything I said sound like me praying everyone gets wiped out? I'm not even telling anyone to sell everything, just to be smart about taking profits and not dumb about HODLing. And I speaking from lessons learned in 2018 myself. I got caught doing that shyt with a few coins.

if you are using metamask (this is the preferred method unless you use Kucoin), then converting SHIB to ETH is a few clicks within Metamask. After you do that, you can then transfer the ETH to your wallet. It's very simple.

Thanks @mannyrs13 for getting us hooked on SHIB. i might cop some more ...

ETH was trash as recently as last Aug. I remember accidentally spending 500 dollars on it and being pissed off. Came back in DEC and it was a couple Gs.
