This thread hasn't been updated in quite some time but if you've been paying attention XVGs blockchain is under a 51% attack. The hackers have currently stole 8 million dollars. This is crazy for 2 reasons

1. Who's getting all that processing power to overcome the network like that
2. As far as I know this is the first true blockchain hack

Pretty awesome how they did it too, essentially rolling back the timestamps on the blockchain right after a new block reward is given out, so the blockchain keeps giving out block rewards every second (or minute?)

All of this is still going on and is recorded on the block explorer if you guys wanna see

I thought the block chain was unbreachable and more secure than banks?

They got "hacked" because their code was faulty. The alleged hacker said they need to hire new devs because there were more exploits.

Verge has been incompetent (Wraith delays), just had a scam like community fund, the lead dev said he couldn't afford to pay his taxes, and now a hack. The money they raised to secure their partnership has now been stolen. They botched a hard fork too.

Either they're in over their heads or this is an exit scam.

XVGs blockchain has a relatively weak collective hashing power and it's devs are sophmoric. This has been known. The solution they came up with is actually a hard fork of their blockchain and they didn't even know it.

This couldn't happen to something like bitcoin because there is too much hashing power in the network for one person to take control of, the software is too mature and people who are involved are NASA level engineers.

Still it's interesting to see it happen and it still probably took supercomputer level hardware to pull it off.
