This match appeals to the casuals, the outsiders, the non-weekly viewers. This will bring in so much money, so much business! Everything that sets WWE apart from the other company. It’s all about making money and growing. That’s what I’ve been told for the past year and a half anyway. So why is it a problem now? Only true marks are angry at this

Probably, anyways I just don’t agree with how they booked Cody as the middle man.
Rock should have just entered the Rumble and won that way.

Because Cody is not mainstream like the Rock, seriously people like you need to stop thinking the IWC is major like that. Cody not getting his shot means zero outside of wrestling fandom, Rock being in the main event is news worthy, no insult but does that have to be explained?
Dave is reporting what I speculated in the thread after it happened, essentially the Vince shyt is so ugly + no Punk and no Brock means they felt they needed the starpower AND to shift the mainstream conversation. I think people need to remember that in any creative business, the business will always come before the creative.
All that being said, they could've have handled the transition better. Having Seth come out and basically say "pick me pls" while sounding like the last girl at the dance without a partner and Cody not giving the reason he actually thought he should wait besides "counsel" hurt the possibility of smoothing over what was going to be a controversial decision regardless (but ultimately it will still be successful in accomplishing the intended goal).

"Everyone can see that I was more than a match for Roman last year. I'm not the only one who's had Roman dead to rights, either. But we all know Roman can't be stopped until the Bloodline is dealt with. We've tried to defeat them from the outside to no avail. Perhaps the answer then, is to have them addressed from within..."

I think that reasoning would have played out better. Still have Roman retain but the Bloodline abandons him as a result of some kind of new level of unacceptable fukkery and then he heads into the rematch with Cody by himself, where Cody completes both storylines.

WM was damn near already sold out without Rock and they be setting attendance records in arenas damn near every Monday/Friday night without Rock. Some of y’all seem to be living in a past era where y’all think these dudes ain’t really stars when they actually are.

Selling tickets is only one part of the equation, PPV sales, social media impressions, articles, tv spots etc are all things the Rock can.....no WILL boost are ya'll slow or just wilfully dense
