Why would they make Seth Rollins and his title look weak yesterday if they going to pivot Cody in that direction.

Why would Cody go after a title he does not really want?

And I think this is the conclusion that some people have already jumped to... because I guess the Rock's music completely blacked out everything else Cody clearly said in the promo. He didnt say shyt about wrestling Rollins, he said the title he wants is the one with the Bruno lineage that his father didn't win. Nobody's considering that a lot of shyt can change between the Rumble and Mania, it has before. The title shot isn't being voided, he's made clear he's going for THAT title ("but not at Wrestlemania")... people can do whatever they want on social media, but I'ma chill til whatever happens happens.

Ngl as much as I like Seth, having Gunther take the title off of him at Wrestlemania would be a better direction. Gunther would make that title more prestige than Seth or Cody ever could.

Why are so many posts saying Cody gave up his WM shot? He's just going after Seth instead of Roman.

Cody says he still wants Roman and wants to take everything from him, it just won't be at Mania.

Unless they do another draft and/or a convenient RAW contract ending and Cody moving over to SD

I see this playing out as -

Cody beats Seth, or it's basically a no contest, and Priest uses the MITB and wins - Seth rehabs, Cody and Priest feud for a few months to get Priest over as legit, even more sympathy for Cody as a face until Cody wins it and pulls up on Roman to unify the belts right before SS.

Either way, the only way to entice Roman at this point is to have another belt for him to take to truly be "undisputed" - this puts over the World title, unifies the belt now that Roman will lose it and there won't be an issue of not having a belt defended, puts Cody over as a fighting champ and the guy that beat Roman, after Roman beat the Rock.

Rock/Roman happens.
Priest has his moment.
Seth can get right.
Cody is a made man.

Everyone wins.

So what happens to RAW's championship once the belts get unified?

The natural assumption is if Cody is not facing Roman at Mania he needs to be in a top match and as Seth has challenged him that makes the most sense. As for Cody seeing Roman again, I would wager it being at Summer Slam or another major PLE.

Other belts get shine and priority on respective shows when the feud on a particular brand is more compelling. Sometimes RAW has the hot feud, sometimes Smackdown.

Again- Cody NEVER SAID shyt about wrestling Rollins instead. He said he was going after Roman and the title, because THAT's the title he wants... but not at WrestleMania.
