a black man will still be a nikka to the white man when he leaves the hood but a Dominican or Puerto Rican (most of the time) can just put on nicer clothes and get a haircut and he won't be looked down on
plus, most mulatto latinos don't consider themselves black, and white people don't either
When a Dominican or Puerto Rican or Cuban (generally) says they don't consider themselves black...what they really tend to mean is that they don't consider themselves black culturally. As in the African American black.
But there is plenty of black acknowledgement as far as color and even African history/influence in the islands.
I really can't understand why this concept isn't grasped by some members of the coli.
It's not to say racism doesn't exist in the Islands...but good lord...there's a difference in what we're talking about.
