When you're a minority, you face similar struggles.
Breh, I'm Dominican and I grew up around black people. For a long time in the 80s, that's all there was in my apt building growing up. The Dominican struggle definitely isn't the black struggle in America. But the black struggle in America also damn sure aint the Dominican struggle in DR. And if you or anyone you know grew up in el campo in DR...you KNOW what that was like back in the day.

So maybe the two peoples aren't identical, but in some ways they're similar. And one could quite easily sympathize with the other.

And Zoe is also part Puerto Rican.

But rather than argue about whether Zoe is "black" in the traditional American sense...all you guys need to stop giving this woman attention like having a baby is a big damn deal.

I know about some of those Dominican struggles, I read Julia Alvarez book in high school and shyt. We both struggled like you said though it is different.

The things is like I said there's a cultural disconnect that can't be denied, and Dominicans are a unique case. Black posters are mad that a Dominican women is having a baby with a white man talking about "no brothers". Like who gives a fukk.

That's the funny thing.
People slammed Beyonce when the L'Oreal commercial came out or when she calls herself creole. But if Beyonce were Brazilian everyone would be calling her mixed, most Brazilians have the similar racial breakdown as Beyonce. I'm not saying Beyonce is mixed I just think it is interesting who we label mixed or "exotic", or a self-hater.
