No one is comparing FroBe to any of these players but out of HS, Kobe wasn't this good. He flat out wasn't this good. He has a lot of holes in his game. Same for McGrady. I am not even saying these two will be as good as those two in the NBA. I am saying, out of HS, Cam and RJ are better. Simple as that. I remember these nikkas out of HS. That's not to say, Cam or R.J. can be as good as T-Mac or Kobe as pros but out of HS, they are better. This isn't Andrew Wiggins. These guys can really play.

Ive only watched youtube highlights so I dont know about his handles/Jumpshot/Passing and I hope the young guy succeeds but jumping out of the gym doesnt mean anything. Especially at 6'6 270. Just look at that comp hes playing against

You don't think R.J. Barrett wouldn't beat NBA players 1 on 1. You are talking about once in a generation talents which Kobe was. These types will always shine regardless. Kobe at 17 was special. As is Barrett. What is so hard to understand about that?

Why are UNC fans in here crying? You went to three NCAA Sweet Sixteens in the one and done era. You won the ACC championship two years in a row. You won the NC title game last year and went to it the year before. Why are you in here crying? You have had a lot of success in the last three years. More than my Blue Devils have had.

We are a better overall program but yes, you have had success, I hear you guys talking about the MJ era and I am like, you guys are winning as much now as you think in the early 90's. This is a good era for UNC hoops. Ya'll should be proud. My Dukies, we haven't been as successful lately, I am hoping we can win it all this year and next.

That said, I wish Coach K would develop some of these guys better but then again, he's developed the Plumlee's, Allen, Kennard and a couple others quite well. With the FR, he just hides their weaknesses. It's kinda a hindrance to scouting our talent for the draft. That said, I am good with what Coach K has done since adding Jon Schyer and Capel as assistants. We don't execute like we used to or defend like we use to but we out-talent teams far more than we used to

Kobe was a nightmare at the top sneaker companies camps. AAU squad of Tim, Rip Hammy, Vinsanity, Kevin Freeman. They said Kobe will be better than all of them. Coach Showalter as a preference. He said the same thing about Anthony Bennett, the player Zion used to be compared to. Then it was upgraded to Larry Johnson and Shawn Kemp.

How many times have you watched Cam and RJ live in person? I was watching Cam before his freshman year. I’m friends with the coaches for Team Final, his AAU team. Cam truly became that nikka his senior year. This was a kid who used to fail to make the Team USA teams, because he stunk it up there. I’m not going to sit here and say I’ve evaluated every kid. That is a known liar, but RJ, Cam, Tre, and Zion? Years. Bagley? Years. Trevon? Years. You’ll see though. Wait until college starts, and bookmark this thread. Once in a generation talents right? I was the same guy defending Trae Young, going back to the McDonald’s event and said he is going to prove people wrong. Now they are talking top 3 pick. Your entire class is big time talent, but we’ll see. College is so much different than HS, and the NBA is superior than college. The number of kids in the G League is getting higher and higher.

Post was getting a little long, but RJ was killing everybody at the USA19. He’s deserving of his ranking, but Cam is coming for him. This kid is not the same kid he was this summer or his junior year. I’m not trying to come off as a hater. Duke’s class is amazing, but all me and @Poitier is saying to maybe take it easy. Every year we’ve seen some all-world guys struggle year in and year out. Everything has to click, the program, the coaching, guys who buys in the team’s principles. Seen some UK fans destroying Diallo and Kevin Knox, but praising their 4 star Shai Alexander as their best player. We have to see.

Barkley is just a bad comparison overall. Chuck had long ass arms and was naturally more of a rugged, physical player.

Every undersized 4 that has some explosiveness shouldn't be compared to Auburn/early Sixers Barkley.

The Rodney Rogers comparison is the best one I've seen. Lefty, undersized but explosive with a nice handle and a thick frame...

Kobe was once in a generation talent. Of course he was that good. I just don't think he's as good at 17 as R.J. is. Kobe at 23 could be much better than R.J. at 23. I don't know but at 17, R.J. is better to me. Defensively, clearly. Size wise, clearly. Skill wise, Kobe. Ability on all three levels, R.J. I think he's better. Athletically, R.J. at the same age as just as athletic as Kobe. Height wise, they look about the same. R.J. looks 6'6ish as does Kobe from my times seeing him in person.

Bennett was very good in HS. I don't see why he should be killed for that hot take. His failure is similar to Rey Sidney who just didn't have the passion for the game and ate his way out of Basketball. To make that comparison to Zion is foolish, even if Zion eats his way out like getting to 300-320, he's more like Rodney Rogers more than Bennett or Sidney.

Cam isn't the one I think is near Kobe. I think he's more advanced than McGrady at the same age. Not Kobe. R.J. is the one I think is generational special. Did you see Kobe, not did the sneaker companies see him, did you see him? I saw Kobe at that age. I saw that his handle was still WIP. His shooting was WIP but his competitiveness and his drive was elite. He kinda reminded me of Collin Sexton although Kobe was better than Sexton at the same age.

Are you high on Trae Young at the next level? I am not seeing it. I see Chris Jackson. I don't see the SG skills Steph had mastered at Davidson. I do think he's a great scorer but I don't see NBA superstardom. What do you see out of him at the next level?

Who do you scout for? A NBA team? Blog site? Regional scout for the sneaker companies?
