alright brehs let's do this :win:

okay first things first, I've been going outside and running/walking but need to make it a lot more regular and move into running a couple miles a day

I need to lose about 50 lbs

but meanwhile

I want to start doing some things like situps etc at home what should I start with? I have a problem with my wrists so I can not do anything like pushups etc that makes them twist or puts pressure on them. I guess down the line gym weightlifting style work will also depend on my wrists being good so I'll follow up with the doc and see what can be done to improve things. but I think there are a fair number of things like crunches and other abdomen, legs based things I can do in the meantime

Do you have an actual condition/problem that prevents you from putting pressure on your wrists? You can do exercises that will strengthen them, if it's not a medical issue.

yeah, general joint problems related to a condition  I should have controlled it early when it started 2-3 years ago but I've been lazy about taking medicines and followups etc

so definitely going to make following through with medical stuff part of my health transformation

*sniff* so you looking to build some muscle mayne?

you came to the right place.

even though I dont know what kinda weight lifting (upper body) you can do that wont put stress on your wrists :russ:

you have gout or arthritis? If you dont want to disclose thats cool too, but that definitely sounds like an issue you should get worked out first, and just clean up your diet in the meantime.

to be honest I'm not even sure what it is, I think it's arthritis related though

yeah clean up the diet for sure, it's a pity last year I was doing very well with the health thing but then fell off and this year I just gave up once the heat started, been eating ice cream, drinking sodas, juices etc. gonna cut that all out cold turkey

just cold water + maybe some flavoring :lift:

too the two of you, i know you may have prior beef with zero. but this isnt the place

keep it in JBO

to zerozero, im glad youre taking the leap

current stats? and what is your goal specifically? building muscle? or cutting fat?

keep in mind, that at your size(making assumption) you cant do both. So for your sake figure what you want to do now then plan

IE look at myself, my plan is to get to a low enough body fat and then bulk slowly so that i keep my definition yet get small increases in size.

other people will bulk first then cut fat later(which imo is counter productive)

know this that if you havent lifted properly before you will be able to do both for a short time(newbie gains) but dont expect it to last

good luck to you, and ASK QUESTIONS dont stay in the dark. There are tons of guys here including myself that are willing to get you where you need to be

Figure out what the problem is before you start working out seriously. Joint problems can turn serious very quickly if you don't know what you're doing, and even permanent damage isn't out of the question. You need to know whether or not you can work around it before you begin.

In the meanwhile, work on stretching and a good cardio routine. I guess people here have already mentioned diet.
