I thought he was going to make a devin booker type of leap in 2021-2022 but it never happened. Now he's regressing:francis:

Been a fan since I seen him play at ucla too but it's definitely time to blow it up. Lonzo ain't walking through that door any time soon

Bulls need to stop kidding themselves and have a fire sale
They are :skip:

Lavine's their biggest commitment. Lonzo's probably gonna be medically retired. Derozan's a UFA after this year IIRC. You can easily move the rest of the parts.

That's why I think trading Lavine away for expirings and picks makes the most sense, can start the reboot swiftly

Zach LaVine is a casual fan's dream player.
A guy who can score points, but doesn't do anything else well enough to elevate a team to make them serious championship contenders.

At this point, the ideal use for Zach LaVine is as a 6th man off the bench to score points with the 2nd unit.

He's this generation's Gilbert Arenas at his best. This generation's OJ Mayo at his worst.

Lakers could use him because he's the shooter they need to complement the 1st unit, then leads the scoring on the 2nd unit. And he's more athletic than their current guards so they can at least "hope" he learns how to play defense.

LA can't make the trade until their new signings free up in December, but these salaries match:

Bulls get: D-Lo, Reaves, Vincent, Hood-Schifino and a 1st

Lakers get: LaVine and Caruso

New depth chart would be:

PG: Lebron, Caruso, new PG
SG: Lavine, Christie
SF: Prince, Reddish, Vando
PF: Davis, Rui
C: Wood, Hayes

Depending on matchups, crunch time lineup might be:

Lebron
Lavine
Prince
Rui
AD

or

Caruso
Lavine
Lebron
Rui
AD

or

Caruso
Lavine
Prince
Lebron
AD

Lakers would probably have to rush to sign Goran Dragic just so they had someone to run the offense in games where bron sits. Maybe DJ Augustin too for insurance.

Sixers gathered them assets for a situation like Lavine. This helps Batum get back to the Clippers, after the Bulls wavie him. That's what's most important here
I like Lavine a lot, but with Maxey's rise to stardom, his presence isn't as needed as before. I'm also a little cold on trading for him now because the Sixers will fukk up the depth they currently have and will have to part with a key rotation player like Tobi, Melton etc. to make the money match

The time to do was when Harden was here

Yeah the only way I'm doing the deal is if Rui or Vando are not included.

The Lakers would look terrible without wing depth.

Reaves is a fan favorite but I would trade him in this scenario.

But honestly I don't think they really need Lavine.

Pros and cons with this rotation

They'd have to get a PG in the buyout market or something cause LeBron can't be your only solid playmaker on this team with Reaves and DLO gone in that lineup
