Who on the Lakers would you give up for Lavine?
I would only trade for him WITH Caruso. That would be the new starting backcourt so Reaves and DLo are a given. I'd try to keep Rui but I would assume Chicago would want him as well. JHS and Christie would have to go as well. That's basically everything LA can offer but I would desperately try to throw Vincent in there instead of Rui.

You know what? I wouldn't include Rui. Lavine has no value and Chicago would get the 2029 first and probably a couple swaps.

Getting Caruso isn’t worth taking on the remainder of Lavine’s contract especially since the you could just increase your price and get him outright without Lavine’s contract. If it was 1-2 years then I could see a team doing it, but 3-4 is mehhh.

The irony is that you had some of the media saying that they could initially get more for him than Beal based on his age.
The Lakers could actually use Lavine though. :francis:

Yeah Im keeping Rui as well.

Dlo 17 million
Gabe 11 million
Reaves 12

Yeah looking at salaries Lavine makes way too much money because I'm not trading Rui for him at all. You don't trade 25 year old wings that have shown flashes when Lebron is 39 years old.

Lavine would be dope but you would probably have to get a 3 team trade to get it done.

Woj repeating what most fans of this team have been saying about Zach for a while now.

I've seen him as #1 and as a #2. If the Bulls felt like he was that guy, they would have bushes Donovan and stood by Zach a while ago. This time he's going to be shelved with this foot injury is going to be really interesting.

Last night illustrated that the majority of the team gets how they need to play and what the staff is asking of them. When your best players don't buy in, it's over.

Lavine is in the same tier that Monta Ellis was. And Lavine has two all star appearances and a gold medal. I'd say he's accomplished enough with his empty stats and no team is gonna take 200 mil of his contract to play like a fring all-star at best for the money that real all-stars make.
He doesn't really raise your ceiling. He still is hit or miss at getting to the FT line, defense comes and goes, and he's not on his shyt right now currently to make a team want him either. Idk, I just feel like a better basketball player with this Bulls team does more than Zach in the last 3 seasons.

ya $250M for a 3rd option player only makes “sense” for a team who sincerely believes they’re that 3rd option away from a chip and this instantly puts them in contention or is delusional enough to believe they’re a 3rd option away from a chip…lakers would be the perfect takers

These dudes don’t realize that Lavine on the Lakers is the perfect situation for him. The reason why he failed on the bulls is because he’s not a number 1….he’s not a playmaker and he’s not a leader. He wouldn’t have to be any of those things in LA. Instead he can just focus on his strengths which is to be an elite bucket getter…he’s also an elite shooter and shot maker and brings athleticism to the backcourt. All those things the Lakers sorely… sorely …sorely need. Lavine at his best offensively can go toe to toe with a Booker and all the other great scorers out west. He also opens up the game for Bron and AD who both have to work too hard in the half court right now.

Bron’s been begging for an elite scorer and a shooter since he got to LA. It’s why they went after Kawhi, then Dame, then Kyrie. And mutilated themselves in the Westbrook trade

Lavine actually addresses those needs. He tries on defense when he’s actually engaged too.

People go on too much about his contract. With the new cap that’s the going rate for players of his caliber. Look at how much Jaylen Brown makes and while he’s better than Zach he’s not a number 1 either and he is going to be making 60 mil a year. Plus Zach is only 27 it’s not like he can’t be flipped…especially when he gets to just 2 years left on his deal.

Long story short…get that nikka. He’s worth the risk.
