Not so much both sides, its just acknowledging that we all have a form of privilege within some social identity we embody. She didn't agree with the notion of the article at all, no need to read something that you hear arguments in class about every other day.
I don't need you to interpret that post for me bruh. I comprehend very well.

"We all have some form of privilege within some social identity that we embody". This is the bullshyt that I'm talking about. This is nothing but a deflection man. First of all, it's not about individual privileges based on who you are specifically as an individual. It's about systematic privileges that are afforded to one group over the other. There are no systematic privileges that black men as a group are afforded over black women. There are systematic privileges that black women enjoy over black men and being propped up and empowered by white liberals over black men is the main one. That's the root cause of this "beef" between black men and women. We've allowed white liberals to come in between us and take sides to keep shyt started.

When I said that, I was talking from my perspective. Because of my education I have access to class privileges that some others don't. I don't have the same issues that black queer folks have and just acknowledging that is not submitting to a white liberalism ideology.

I agree that the article is bullshyt so we really crying over spilled milk. I also agree that white liberals control too much of the exchange of black media and have way to much of an influence on the black mind.

That being said, I just lost another childhood friend. From one black man to another black man, I wish you the best, and regardless if our ideologies line up, just know that as long we talking black empowerment, I'm with it.

I disagree fam. Here you basically cosign intersectionality and I certainly believe that is white liberal ideology. The issues that black queer feminists folks have is that they're black in a society controlled by white supremacy. If black queers were white they wouldn't have the same issues that they have now.

:salute: Respect.

I do think that as many of us as possible need to get on the same page and to do that it's going to take some uncomfortable debates/discussions.

The fact that most black women online are eating this up makes me look at all of them sideways.:patrice:

I wouldn't say most. Not even close.

The type of black women that this rhetoric and propaganda appeals to are usually liberal arts educated females that attend PWIs and live on twitter being faux-miilitant.

The simple fact you typed all this without watching the video is hilarious and proof of why dudes need to ignore the opinion of many.

"I haven't watched the video or read the article"

And then wrote that entire wall of text... :mjlol:

Expect us to take you seriously, brehettes.

He isn't even going to engage:russ:

He probably Google searched him and was like :whoa::whoa::whoa:
What did you not like about that article?
Was it the comparing Whitemen and Black men?
The minimalization of the Black men's plight?

Yes to both :francis:
I agree the title is very provocative but I feel it's necessary!

Blacfhbrck Men are still Men!

Black men may not have an equal chance at success but I think comparing them to white men is a great analogy. It gives The reader the opportunity to look at the parallels of community reguardless of race or culture.
Opens the mind to the intersectionality of the Black experience.
It also gives the depth of how important Black men are to our community.
You all have more direct power over the Black community than white men.

I also agree that we should have open and honest conversations about the disadvantages we face amongst ourselves.

There is too much outrage in our community when we talk about our unique experiences whether it be Black Men or Women.
Yes we are all Black but your gender does give you a different perspective!

Black men should be free to air your grievances just as any other member of our community.
