That last call and response was so on point. The same exact tricks were being played in the 19th century during the lead up to the Civil War and Reconstruction. Only difference is that instead of bigots giving feminists a newspaper and funding so they can try to divide a Black community attempting to build itself up, we now have Black bloggers and Twitter personalities doing it for them. And to make matters worse, I'm sure most of them are completely unaware of the past context because as Curry and others stated, these people are not deep thinkers. They simply use the structure of white society and project that onto an entire group whether it fits or not. That's how you can have an author of an article list all the metrics that Black men lag behind in and still come in with a strong BUT.
