"US Household Income. According to the Census ACS survey, the median household income for theUnited States was $53,657 in 2014, the latest data available. 2015 Census ACS data (including 2015 national household income numbers) will be released in September of 2016."

Compare individual income to household income brehs.

You're always in threads being obtuse and ignoring facts.
When y'all are using the other statistics about kids born to poor single mothers you are comparing "individual" income to "household" income.

And even still 50k for a household is nothing. That would mean 50% of ALL Americans are still relatively "poor"

It's not something exclusive to black people.

One more time 90% of ALL Americans share 10% of the wealth.

I'm sorry, but you can't sugarcoat the truth no matter how much it hurts. TBH, I like it when people and leaders are upfront. This comes from someone who is voting Green. We have to acknowledge the crisis in our community.
I'm not suggesting sugar coating anything. I even said in my previous post that he should acknowledge the problem. But u can't use the fact that a community has lots of problems to coax them into thinking that they have to accept any old crap from a politician. He wasn't saying ok we have a lot of work to do, he was saying yall already got so many Ls u might as well come along for the ride

Breh shut up, 53k and 26k are a big difference, and anybody with real life experience will tell you that.

That's the difference between living in some of the worst hoods in your city or living in a safer area. Being able to afford Healthcare for your children. Being able to reliably maintain a car to take you to and from work.

So what are you trying to argue? That blacks aren't poorer than every other group in this country other than native Americans? That blacks aren't doing worst than every other group in this country almost every metric? Are you in denial about blacks being in last place?

I think he was trying to make some-type of pitch. He's working with these Black Christian leaders, so now maybe he has a plan. I think he's going to go into more detail. Atleast he acknowledged the problem.

I'd say that the problem with trump's speech to black people wasn't so much that he was spewing erroneous stats but rather the way he phrased it as "y'all situation is so fukked up that you should be happy with whatever that might be (if anything)"

A better approach would have been to acknowledge the problem and then state his plans for improvement and what he has to offer. Not this whole let me throw u these crumbs since u starving anyways
This was my issue with his address. It's like "Well you don't know if I'll do better or worse by you , but it couldn't hurt to try."

Depends on where you live.

That's the difference between living in some of the worst hoods in your city or living in a safer area. Being able to afford Healthcare for your children. Being able to reliably maintain a car to take you to and from work.
The overwhelming majority of black people are living in decent areas, affording healthcare, maintaining a car and a job.

So what are you trying to argue? That blacks aren't poorer than every other group in this country other than native Americans? That blacks aren't doing worst than every other group in this country almost every metric? Are you in denial about blacks being in last place?
This thread is about the statements made by Donald Trump.

That black people have nothing, they are poor, uneducated, with nothing to lose. And people defending those statements as "truth"

I'm arguing against this notion that black people are just in shambles starving and dumb in ghettos accross America.

The reality is that most of ALL Americans are in similar economic conditions. Yes there is a disproportionate amount of black people toward the bottom of that spectrum, and that's due to history and continued systemic barriers. But in no way should we allow them to keep using black people as the face of poverty, while ignoring the fact that ALL Americans are sharing a very small fraction of this countries wealth.

Trump was literally standing in a sea of poor white people when he said this shyt:heh:
