50% of ALL Americans make less than 30k a year.

So why is it again that black people are "poor" and white people aren't?

and

the AVERAGE white person is poor

the Average American is white
with a house hold income of 22k or lower

:russ:

Poor is a measure of your wealth not your income guys. The average white may not make a lot of money but they have property, land, investments, and wealth that is being passed down to them generation after generation. I believe the statistic is white households have a net worth of 140k vs black households at just 11K

90% of all Americans share 10% of the wealth.

We are all relatively "poor" if wealth is the measure.

Wealth is the measure. And the net worth statistics being quoted are referencing the MEDIAN and not the average wealth of white and black household (and a household can contain more than 1 person by the way).

So what that means statistically is that HALF of the white households have wealth above 140k and HALF below. Likewise HALF of black households have net worth above 11k and HALF below.

let me put it in caps for you to process... HALF OF BLACK HOUSEHOLDS HAVE A NET WORTH BELOW 11K.

You missed her point. White people are poor, but their chances of climbing out of that barbell is significantly higher then ours, as far as blacks, will just remain poor, that's what she's saying.

The top 30% don't represent the entire population of US whites, the averages consider all whites not just the ones with money.

Trump follower are the representation of poor white america that use to be middle class, that's the reason for all the anger because they are now considered "poor" and blame immigrants, and political figures.

the US is the richest country on earth, :mjlol: @ comparing the living standards of black americans to someone living in a remote village in pakistan or some dumb shyt
dude legit asked if you were hungry.
This sort of mental gymnastics in the name of pride or whatever it is ultimately hurts our people and delays the rectification of the issues
Dividing is powerful. fukk them, we're better off as second-class citizens in America.

That's basically a measure of home ownership VS. debt as that's the only "wealth" most Americans have.

Black people were given bad/expensive loans, and continually have to take out loans for education, therefore black people debt to house ownership ratio is so low. It's takes more debt to climb out of poverty.

For example I own a 100K home, but I have 50k in student loans to pay, plus my mortgage is only half paid off. That puts my net worth at $0. But that does not make me poor.

On the flip side white people were given homes with basically no debt, meaning they can spend that extra cash on NOT going into debt elsewhere, so their ratio is higher.

White person gets 100k home passed down from family, can aggressively pay for student loans. Now his "net worth" is 100k.

But in reality owning a 100k home in this shytty housing market does not make you "wealthy" by any stretch of the imagination. White peoples are just as vulnerable as everybody else not in the top 10

Its downright insulting for a presidential candidate to say what do you have to lose voting for them to a specific ethnic group. Nothing in that inspires belief that anything will get better. It's like he didn't even attempt to pander like the votes aren't even worth it.

The more he speaks now,the more I think he got paid to throw the election.
He is there to make Hillary look good. Bernie was too. It's been obvious for a good while.

The hurt feelings on election night will be the truth.

Yeah but Trump is just a spokesman for the disgruntled and entitled Whiteman. When he loses they're still going to be there and even angrier. That's the real problem.

I'd say that the problem with trump's speech to black people wasn't so much that he was spewing erroneous stats but rather the way he phrased it as "y'all situation is so fukked up that you should be happy with whatever that might be (if anything)"

Imagine trying to pick up a girl and telling her "you're fat, u ugly, u dumb. U might as well date me what the hell do u have to lose"

A better approach would have been to acknowledge the problem and then state his plans for improvement and what he has to offer. Not this whole let me throw u these crumbs since u starving anyways
I'm sorry, but you can't sugarcoat the truth no matter how much it hurts. TBH, I like it when people and leaders are upfront. This comes from someone who is voting Green. We have to acknowledge the crisis in our community.

"US Household Income. According to the Census ACS survey, the median household income for theUnited States was $53,657 in 2014, the latest data available. 2015 Census ACS data (including 2015 national household income numbers) will be released in September of 2016."

Compare individual income to household income brehs.

Damn near half of all black households are single parent homes that make less that 26k a year, when the median household income in the USA was 53,657. The black median household income is literally half of the national median household income... And those houses are being led by single parents :snoop:

You're always in threads being obtuse and ignoring facts. What would you describe your political leanings as? :jbhmm:
