Why should Yvette be concerened with that, she is tackling the illusion media likes to dangle in front of AAs, that through "hardwork and saving" we can be just like Jade

when thats not totally true.

The drivel your going into is just your own silly gripe with Yvette, which All I can give u the answer for is to ignore her if you dont like her stuff

Yvette personally attacks the girl and her family for most of the video. She literally says Jade doesn't deserve any articles or any recognition of her personal accomplishments and says who cares about any awards jade won.

If she wanted to focus on the media and the presentation of the story then she should have done just that.

She's not hating on the family or the 28-year-old. Why are some of you guys misconstruing the video?

Do you love fluff propaganda pieces about "black excellence and success" that much or do you have some other problem with Yvette that makes you want to misrepresent her video?

As to why Yvette covered this story, she says at the beginning of the video that some of y'all "black prosperity thinkers" were hitting her up on Facebook about how this story disproves a lot of what she says. Moreover, erroneously calling people agents just leads to paranoid finger pointing which was one of the goals of cointelpro . Yvette was doing this blog/vlog shyt before a lot of y'all discovered on Youtube a few years ago. I don't remember anyone discussing her on this site four or five years ago.

The girl in the article should be celebrated or whatever, but Yvette's just telling people that her success was possible because she didn't come from poverty, and that GENERATIONAL WEALTH IS IMPORTANT. THE AVERAGE BLACK PERSON ISN'T GOING TO JUST "SAVE AND WORK HARD" AND OPEN UP A FAST FOOD FRANCHISE. She's not just hating.
as unbareable as yvettes voice and delivery is, i dont know why its so difficult for ppl to see this.

agreed with some of her and tones critics that their shows have a tone of doom and gloom but if u actually listen there is a lesson to be taken from each show they do and u dont have to get caught up in the hopelessness part of everything

Just learn how to consume and decipher data

Looks like a stand up self made brother that cares about his community. Educated himself and beat the system

Thats usually how it goes.

Black folks dont come from money.... someone in the family tree has to beat the system and avoid the traps.

That's why stories like this make me so happy to see.

Shoot you can start with the video title. It's a personal shot at the girl like she is about to do an exposal. Yvette could had titled it the truth about the media portrayal of the youngest black franchisee but she didn't. Words matter and how you phrase things matter.. which is ironic cause thats supposedly a large part of Yvette's argument. She doesn't even realize she is doing the same thing.

But you can see personal shots starting around minute 13.

Here is a quote from the article referencing the personal awards Jade won that Yvette said doesn't matter:

"In her first year, she received the Outstanding Restaurant Manager of the Year Award for her region and went on to outperform not only in her region but in the country her second year, according to TheBlackProfessional.com. She also received the Ray Kroc Award, which goes to the top 1 percent restaurant managers in the nation."

So Jade outperformed 99% of mcdonalds managers in the NATION at her young age. Jade appears to be EXCEPTIONAL at what she does. Since Yvette likes data lets use it. Jade is in the top 1% of managers in the nation. You cannot just dismiss that like Yvette does and say it doesn't matter. Her parents cannot hand that down to Jade. Jade accomplished that on her own. I'm sure there is not a lot of black women in that training program she did either. I guarantee some of those cacs didnt want her there either and made it extra hard for her. Anytime a black person succeeds you better believe they worked 2x as hard to get half as much credit as their white counterparts.

I gotta agree with this. If I won the lottery and opened up a bunch of Chick Fil A's and the media pumped me up as some self made millionaire franchisee on some "He did it, why can't you?" shyt, while totally ignoring that I benefited from an extremely unusual circumstance, then people should call it out. Its not hating, its just truth telling.

I used to criticize Yvette and Tone Talks as well, but the more I listen I understand their agenda and its not just shyt on black success. Tone especially makes it clear, government has created policy to benefit other groups in the past, and DOS AAs should have that same opportunity. If all AAs banded together, got on one accord and DEMANDED shyt, we could actually see some progress, but believing things are better than they are keeps people docile.

I havent' listened to a ton of Yvette and Tone's podcast, but I don't take their criticism as hate, c00nery, or think they're agents. I truly believe they want to see black success in mass.

.
Her extremely unusual circumstance was that her father was a retired police officer who earned his masters while on the force.Purchased first franchise 10 years ago.

That's it.
