:ld: Having a 112.7 defensive rating without having to guard the opponent’s best player is really bad.
Nah dog that’s a team stat. The Pels are a bad defensive team. shyt Zo and Hart are probably the only guys on that team that put in the most effort this season.

The ‘lytics have always graded Hart as a positive to neutral defensive player known for putting in effort on-ball, rebounding, hustling for loose balls, he’s a strong post defender and plays bigger generally which gives him some versatility. He doesn’t have good foot speed on-ball though far from a one-on-one stopper and is one of those guys that plays hard and can get burned because of that whether it’s missing a rotation jumping the passing lane or fouling a shooter with an aggressive contest. But he has solid overall defensive value most definitely a Thibs guy.

He was a good defender in college and on the lakers i remember. The pelicans were just a bad defensive team. Even Lonzo didn’t look as good as he was billed to be.

He had 60-40-90 shooting splits, and defends, and as a former shooting guard you got to hope he could do a 2 dribble pull-up midrange in time. The same way they describe him next to Embiid and Ben, he could play next to Randle and RJ. Even if we get say Lavine or Beal, as the third wing on the roster, the Knicks would be a good space long term.

Got to love these cherry picked ass stats with a bunch of random qualifiers. lol

ehhh
while there are qualifiers.....
rj has played in 2 shortened seasons. ...missing 18 from last year and 10 from this year compared to normal regular seasons.
one of which with fizdale as a coach :scusthov:
it shows he can put up numbers even with his seemingly rudimentary skill level.....just off his motor, will, and iq.
will he be as great as them? probably not....but he'll be a player in this league. confident in that.

Any idea who the Knicks are thinking of targeting in the draft or is too soon for that?
