Ys Viii IMO has the best exploration out of any JRPG from last-gen. Sure Automata and Xenoblade are bigger and look nicer, but they always felt much more bloated.
I really really loved Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Tough decision but I will say both of the maps were kind of confusing lol

I get lost in both games

Xenoblade had issues with the compass and the map. Which made Tantal and Gormott in particular a headache to explore in particular. Of course just getting lost while exploring was always fun though.

One of my favorite games in the last 10 years. I'll definitely play it again on PS5 if it's a free upgrade
I originally played it on Switch so the upgrade of playing it on PS5 will feel good. I might run through the series now that I have a gaming laptop to play the earlier games in the series. Despite them being much more difficult.
