If I’m keeping it real, modern American wrestling feels so played out and cliche that it doesn’t even really entertain me anymore. Every trope feels beyond done to death, most matches have the same “epic” format or layout, everything just feels so samey and vanilla it’s hard to get into any of it without it feeling very been there, done that. Firefly Funhouse or the Boneyard match were such fresh air from the usual finisher kickout epic Mania matches I might’ve expected otherwise. I know this is less nitpicky to small details and more about North American wrestling as a whole but I really feel like it’s all just turned into a parody of it self by and large and that itself has become a giant nitpick to me

-Everyone standing around waiting for someone to dive off the ropes (just hide them off camera :martin:)
-Finishers no longer being protected as much. Stop having people kick out finishers 2 or more times a match (Looking at you NXT )

-People popping right up after a big spot like its nothing (:ufdup:Rey Fenix)

-Champions not being on the show every week. (at the very least defending their title every 30 days)
-People jumping brands with no explanation (Shayna mostly)
-Tower of Doom spot in every multi-person match.
-People obviously slowing down when they climb a ladder due to a person either being slow to hit the spot or the person climbing was too fast
-Stables not having women in them (Britt Baker in the Inner Circle seems like a no brainier)
This one has cracked me up for years. They'll even get to the top and then "struggle" to get the belt down, stalling til someone else gets up there to stop them.

Similar thing in cage matches, a dude will be OUT in the ring and then just miraculously spring right back up as soon as their opponent gets to the top of the cage

Every wrestler doing this:

I swear I hate the suicide dive with a passion. I’m pretty sure this move has been the cause of multiple injuries since it’s overuse starting back in 2009. Every wrestler does not need to fly through the ropes:francis:

I'm not sure it still happens, but back in wcw for sure during any beatdown of someone, the timekeeper would ring the bell and just keep ringing and ringing and ringing and ringing... never stopped a single beatdown

shyt i always thought this was cool cause it put over how chaotic the brawl was :pachaha: i could see how it could annoy people though

You're not wrong, it definitely added to the chaoticness of the situations, but yeah... after a minute or so they should've just gave up. Clearly ringing the bell is making no difference at all :russ:

Once, just ONCE, I'd have liked to see someone (Jericho maybe ) carry on with a beat down and then just stop and go "oh, they're ringing the bell? I should probably stop! Sorry, got caught up in the moment and wasn't hearing it..." I'd be :dead::laff:

- The hot tag/comeback spot where they knock the guy down a couple times with forearms to the chest:hhh:
- This seems to only happen in women's matches but when they both go to run at each other at the same time and then just stop:stopitslime:

- Someone said it already but champions coming out first just seems intentionally disrespectful

- Weak looking offense of any regard, but especially strikes:martin:

- Seeing two wrestlers tie up in a PPV match when it's been on sight for months:unimpressed:

Generally the WWE style matches:picard:

Too many boring predictable restholds

Spots in the matches where both guys lay on the ground for what feels like minutes.

The “slow it down” pace shyt in cases where it don’t make sense

The overdoing the “clash of styles” shyt (high flyer vs brawler, big guy vs little)

Guys in feuds being forced one way or another to be pit against each other week after week leading up to a show. I don’t need one week to see them fight in a DQ, then next week it’s a tag match, then next week it’s an interview that leads to a brawl, then next week they’re forced to tag together against another team, then next week they do a long promo contract signing segment that leads to another brawl, then the match at the PPV, then Monday they fight again.

Speaking of promos.... the scripted promos

Jeez, let them breath
