Xenogears would have edged out Xenosaga III on my list had that second disc not have been the way it was. I guess they ran out of money or whatever but you're supposed to play through a game not have the characters of it sit down in a chair and describe what happened to you.

Too many JRPG's I've played and loved to just limit it to 5, but here are the ones I can remember off top or had the most fun with in no particular order.

1) Brave Fencer Musashi 1 -
2) Final Fantasy 8
3) SaGa Frontier 1 (I mean the whole series is piff if you can hack it, but 1 is the first that just had me music, game play, everything)

4)FF Tactics -
5) Star Ocean 2

Honrable mentions - Tactics Ogre (Played FF first and hold more memories with that, but this game still awesome), Xenogears, Suikoden 1-3, Breath of Fire 3,4, Chrono Trigger, La Pucellie tactics, Dark Cloud, Front Mission 3, Super Mario Rpg, SaGa Frontier 2 (fukk..the entire series is piff!), Alundra, the Disgea series...shyt..I'll stop.

I also just realized I've played Suikoden 3 four times, loved it, and only got as far as them all meeting up. What the fukk.

You didn't hear what happened? Square pulled funding to fund ff7 which was being made at the same time.

I didn't see this thread in the forums so I decided to make it. What are your top JPRG'S of all time? Can be from any gen or platform.

Mine are

1: Xenogears
2: Suikoden 2
3: Tales of The Abyss
4: Breath of fire 3
5: Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Story.

No chrono trigger or ff6 is a huge fail top 5 lol. Although I gather that you probably started playing RPG's around the ps1 era from the looks of your list so I can understand that.

Xenogears (amazing game on so many levels)
Phantasy star 4 (sci fi enthusiast dream. Great game)
Secert of Mana ( amazing action jrpg, that supported 3 player co op)
Breath of fire 3 (even though I barely remember the plot)

Chrono Cross gets mention for one of the GOAT soundtracks too. Chrono Trigger and Xenogears also have GOAT level soundtracks.
