I’m stressing it because #10 is much lower than #3. The fact that it took seven months and a star studded remix to go platinum is what there was to be disappointed about.

The album was flopping and then saved by the remix.

took her 3 or 4 videos too.

didn't even bother chancing a video for the original hot boyz either, and went str8 to the star-studded remix.

Breh, it being #10 has nothing to do with anything. While the chart position was lower, the sales of Da Real World were slightly higher, which is why chart positions have nothing to do with the argument. We've been over this.

Again, I'm asking you who was disappointed, because I've found nothing where Timbaland (who expressed disappointment in the lack of success of his own album), Missy, or any statements from Elektra saying it was a disappointment.

And again, by your logic every album that sells slow and picks up steam with the third single is a flop. Your isn't comprehensive because you're not understanding the basic logic of someone having lower chart positions with a different album in a different year. Totally different circumstances.

LOL

of course youre not gonna see the bolded.

A commercial flop is in regard to money it took to promote and create it vs the money it generated. Something that breaks even isn't a flop. Something that doesn't generate in sales the amount of money it took to promote and create it is a flop. And using your box office example, that is how they determine whether a movie flopped or not.

Neither of us have access to that information regarding her budget.

youre contradicting yourself here.

you cant say this and then turn around & claim that g-code was a flop.

Yeah, we can discuss whether or not something flop, but if you are talking about an absolute, universal definition of a flop, then we can't begin to discuss a flop on that level without talking about the budget.

^^^ I didn't contradict myself because I posted the above quote in regard to flops. My post in regard to budgets, was talking about the universal way of determining a flop.

No, you be smart. Did I not just post a quote from Timbaland discussing sales from his own album in regard to him saying he was disappointed.

How were you pulled back in? If anything, I should be using that gif. This discussion has spanned several threads and even years. I looked back in the thread on "No Limit Stories" and @Wacky D was once again fuming because Missy Elliott was mentioned.
Relax Breh. It was a joke.

well cleary that's what I was talking about, but yet, you still disregarded all of that and continued to call it a flop.

is it oochie wally or is it one mic??

I didn't see the timbaland quote, but just because he supposedly kept it real once, doesn't mean he made a habit out of it. especially considering that timbaland is a guy who always claims hes bored whenever hes cold.

I don't recall missy being mentioned in a no limit thread.

can you provide some context as to what was said that would have triggered me to allegedly fume over the mention of her name?

why the hell would missy be mentioned in a no limit thread anyway, is what should be the real task at hand here. LOL.

I didn't disregard anything. My point still stands. He stated that his was THE criteria for what was considered a flop. My reply in regard to budgets vs the money generated from sales was in response to that.

He didn't supposedly keep it real. Those were his words. Why would he express disappointment in his own sales (which clearly Tim's Bio was a flop) and remain silent on Da Real World. One of those albums went platinum (Da Real World) and the other one didn't even go Gold (with three singles, one of which heavily featured Jay Z). And him saying he's bored with Hip Hop has nothing to do with any of this. Timbaland made the same statements when he was on top. He isn't the first Hip Hop producer to express boredom or even disdain with Hip Hop.

^^^scroll down. The context was No Limit's waning popularity in 1999. Missy was mentioned as one of the artists who was more popular than No Limit at the time.

well you just killed your own argument there.
if its an undeniable flop, then he cant deny it.
as opposed to missy's album which was a flop for months but was later saved.

usually, boredom & disdain are usually expressed by people that are cold.
